Itโ€™s that time of year when the cravings for hearty and soul food kick in. Instead of defaulting to empty calorie dishes that are full of gluten, dairy and sugars take some time to sit down and peruse Pinterest for healthier options on old favorites. There is always a time and place to indulge in Beer Cheese Soup of course, but lets keep those meals for cheats/treats and reinvent some of our standbyโ€™s with healthy options. Here is one of my favorites: โ€œHealthy Heart Turkey Chiliโ€ Some chili recipes out there take hours in the slow cooker, but this one is doable in just 30 minutes OR you can leave it on for hours on low. That's one of the reasons I love it so much. I can "forget" to put dinner on that morning yet come 5 o'clock, still pull this together in time for dinner. Ingredients 1 lb lean ground turkey 1 can rinsed black beans 1 can rinsed chili beans 1 can (14 oz) diced tomatoes 2 cups crushed tomatoes 2 TBSP crushed garlic 1/4 cup diced white onions 1 TBSP oregano 1 tsp chili powder (add more to increase flavor to your preference) 1 tsp sea salt ---------------------- Directions 1. Brown the ground turkey in a skillet and add in the garlic, onions and oregano. 2. In pot (or slow cooker) add the rest of the ingredients and simmer while the turkey is cooking. 3. Add the turkey mixture to the pot and stir and bring to low boil. 4. Once the mixture has boiled, reduce heat to low and allow to simmer for about 30 minutes (or cook in crock pot on low for 2-3 hours). 5. Serve hot and enjoy!

People ask me what's the secret of staying motivated and never quitting on your health and fitness journey? My answer =daily prayer. I'm a hot mess so trust me I need Gods help. I tried to do life on my own for too long-acting like I had it under control...I did not. So- For me, the first thing I do is cover my day in prayer, I ask God for strength to help me do better today than I did yesterday, I ask Him to help me be a living example and be strong and be able to do the work He's called me to do. I also pray over my clients and friends that have trusted me to help them get started, my team who are out there everyday helping others, and for future people that THEY too will have the strength to start their own day 1! Today is all about training your ABS! It is #workoutWednesday after all. Regularly training your abs doesnโ€™t have to mean a super long ab workout. Many of my workout programs incorporate a little bit of core-centric training into all of the days my clients train. This means every day the abs are getting a little bit of training and work in. Try this quick and effective ab circuit today at the end of your workout to finish it out and get that Ab burn in! Repeat this set 3x through back to back exercises. 40 Reps of Mountain Climbers 20 Russian Twists with weighted ball 20 V Sit Crunches 1:00 min Plank 20 Leg Raises 10 Stomach Vacuums with a Twist Feel that tight core build one solid ab workout at a time!

Do you ever stop and think about how lucky you are to be able to exercise ๐Ÿƒ๐Ÿผโ€โ™€๏ธ๐Ÿƒ๐Ÿผโ€โ™€๏ธโ € โ € Moving our bodies is literally one of the biggest blessings in this world and I freaking love seeing what my body is able to do. When we're kids it's in our nature to run and jump and climb on things and move our bodies just simply because we can, and for some reason as we get older that all changes and we start to exercise to look better and because we hate our bodies, it becomes a chore and something we resent. But exercising and moving your body, in whatever way you can is a privilege. ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿผ โ € โ € The next time you are dreading the idea of going for a workout just remember that you are lucky enough to have the choice to exercise. Smile and have gratitude for your functioning able body and all it can do because it's pretty freaking incredible! ๐Ÿคธ๐Ÿผโ€โ™€๏ธ

These are getting harder. ๐Ÿ˜œ I swear it's amazing how much I popped in ONE week. Baby is 14 inches long and weighs almost 2 pounds. She moves NON stop. She was kicking me HARD for a full hour last night and kept me up. ๐Ÿ˜‚ And I went from barely feeling pregnant to being uncomfortable almost "overnight." The third trimester is no joke. I have a baby appt tomorrow -- can't wait!

Iโ€™m a big fan of starting my day off with a glass of waterโ€” and lemon water is where its at. Not only because it adds a โ€œwake me upโ€ kick and flavor burst but truly because there are many benefits of drinking lemon water regularly. Lemon water helps improve digestion and boosts the immune system while hydrating the body. It helps alkalize the body and aids in weight loss, reduction of inflammation and boost energy AND brain power. Try warming it up first thing in the morning and skip the coffee. Put your mug of 8-12 oz in the microwave for a minute and 20 seconds then squeeze half a lemon into the cup and stir it up. This counts for water intake and will get your senses kicked into gear, digestion going and your day off on a great foot! #drinkup

Ok ladies -- here's the deal. We hit our cap goal for the FASTer Way yesterday!!! However, I am feeling very generous today and I know several of you were still on the fence. Two small kids, a full-time business, and just life in general have been so busy for the past several years that I have not consistently made the time to prioritize my own fitness and health. I knew I needed structure and accountability, but also the freedom to LIVE life and enjoy the things that are important to me (such as a glass of wine on occasion, dinners out at restaurants with the family, and fun social events) without constantly feeling deprived. Iโ€™ve tried those other exercise and food plans and just could never make them โ€œstickโ€ long-term because they did not fit my life. I am so thrilled with this entire program. E X A M S T R E S S ... Tomorrow is the start of the HSC for NSW students and I wish all my girls the best of luck over the next few weeks.
