Didn’t eat too awful on the week of but it’s back to reality and getting this work in again! . So I knocked out some breakfast/lunch?? Of course, and I've said it a million times, every decision you make will either get you closer or farther away from your goals. It is the small choices where a lot of people seem to make mistakes include things like consuming too many liquid calories such as sodas and alcohol which can seriously add up in total caloric intake in a day; being sedentary and sitting for hours and hours in a day instead of getting more active; being too focused on cardio and not enough on storength training which often leads to higher amounts muscle loss rather than fat loss; scheduling in multiple cheat meals as opposed to refeed days which again adds up in calories very quickly; and finally, not setting yourself goals and not being patient in reaching your goals. To the last point, way too many people want results right here right now and forget it takes time and consistency. Most people make huge compensations when trying to complete this movement! ⚠️⁣ ⁣ ❌Common mistakes with the #BenchPress:⁣ •Arching your back - This is a great way to put all of the weight on your back and not target the muscles intended! In most cases this showcases that you need to either brace your core or that the weight is too heavy. ⚖️⁣ •Flaring the Elbows - Flaring your elbows perpendicular to your toro so will make the bench press exercise harder and will most likely inflame and potentially injure your shoulders. Make sure to have your elbows in line with your wrists to lessen the risk of injury!🚑⁣ •Bounce the Bar on Chest - When you bounce the weight off your chest you are not properly lowering the weight with total control. How to know your caloric intake needs 👇 ⠀ ⠀ Often times guys aimlessly come up with the fact that they need 4,000 calories to gain weight. You might do. You might not. But the point is that you don't know whether that's true or not and you don't know how you came to that conclusion. So in this post I'm going to talk about how to get a more accurate estimate of your caloric intake needs for weight gain.⠀ ⠀ Step 1⠀ Track your weight every morning after you've been to the toilet and before you eat or drink anything. ⠀ ⠀ Step 2⠀ Log your food intake for a day in your life. Just log everything you eat for the day on a piece of paper. ⠀ ⠀ Step 3⠀ Then throughout the day I want you to track your calories on MyFitnessPal. Be honest and log your calories after you've eaten whatever you typically eat on a standard day in your life. Honesty is important here otherwise there's no point.⠀ ⠀ Step 4⠀ You repeat this for a week and take an average of your calorie intake across the seven days on Sunday.⠀ ⠀ Step 5⠀ Then you take an average of your weight over the past week. Has it gone up or down since Monday? If your weight has gone down, then this is telling you that you need to bump up your calorie intake. If it has gone up, then you can keep your calorie intake where it is as long as you are gained between 1-2lbs in that week. DECREASED DEMENTIA ASSOCIATED WITH MIDLIFE CARDIOVASCULAR FITNESS In a 44-year-long study involving women, high midlife cardiovascular fitness was related to a decreased risk in dementia. The study found a dose-dependent relationship between fitness level and dementia risk. Those with a high cardiovascular fitness level had only a 5% incidence of all-cause dementia by the end of the study, as compared with 25% for medium fitness, and 32% for low fitness. Furthermore, for those who did develop dementia, the onset was an average of five years later in the high fitness group, than in the medium fitness group. The average age of dementia was 11 years higher in women with a higher fitness level than those with a medium fitness level. Although this study only involved women, similar conclusions can be extrapolated to men. A Swedish study that tested cardiovascular fitness utilizing the bicycle test in 18-year-old men, found an increased risk in the onset of dementia occurring among medium fitness levels as compared with highly fit men, and further increased the risk in those with low fitness levels. A very high dementia incidence was found particularly in participants who could not complete the bicycle test before reaching a submaximal load. Although the findings were not causative, there is a definitive association between higher cardiovascular fitness and a lower risk for dementia. Physiologically speaking, those who are the most fit, have a greater amount of oxygen circulating through their bodies. Higher oxygenation to muscles increase endurance and performance. Similarly, the same effect can be hypothesized to apply to brain function, as many associative studies have supported. PHYSIQUE UPDATE - 3 weeks out from my first of two shows. Been feeling pretty good all prep till maybe a couple of weeks ago. Cravings here and there, sometimes drained, the usually. But it's not surprising as my bodyfat drops. - Food is still fairly high at 2650 calories a day. Training 6 times a week, 4 of those time I do 30 minutes cardio after my resistance training and 30 minutes on my rest day. - Down 12.2kg so far, I reckon another kilo and I should be good to go. - Super excited to do these shows and showcase the work I've done over the last year 🤞🏽

What is your favorite rep range? A common workout question is “how many reps should I do?” A quick response would be to say that 1-5 reps will get you stronger, 6-12 will build muscle and 12+ reps will help with endurance. I have fiiiinally worked up to levitating on the side kick through! 🤸‍♀️ Still could be higher but I atleast eel confident in the movement now. One of my favorite workouts are "Animal Flow" moves.🦍 Its like breakdancing but you can actually do it! These moves are total-body movements that involve your whole body: your core, hips, and shoulders, and also balance and coordination. --- Perform the moves slowly to add more tension to your muscles or speed it up for even more of a cardio workout. @hannaheden_fitness taught me the levitating side kick through workout years ago which brought the challenge on!
