Liver & Gall Bladder focus this week The Liver Meridian is perhaps the most important meridian for women. It is responsible for filtering, detoxifying, nourishing, replenishing, and storing blood. It regulates the amount of blood circulating, withdrawing and storing it when resting or sleeping, and releasing it during exercise. Tai Chong point (LR3: 太冲穴) is the source point (原穴)for the Liver meridian. It is located slightly above the first and second toe. This point help regulates blood flow in the entire body (行血). There are many ways to activate the Qi. You can use needling, heat (moxibuxtion), or acupressure. 1. Butterfly pose 🦋 2. Direct needling on LR3. 3. Heating on LR3. 4. Acupressure on LR3 in butterfly pose.

Things I have held for so long I forgot I was holding them. Expectations. Disappointments. Tension. Yin helps me slowly release those things that I no longer need to carry. It helps me to notice them, without judgement. . . It is this magic of awareness and understanding that gently allows me to let go. One breath at a time. I say today as I sit wrapped in a blanket, trying to focus on something, blowing my nose for the 30th time. Patience and tolerance are hard to practice and apply. It takes strength and self awareness. I am usually all right at it, but it is hard not to get frustrated when you have setbacks, when you are sick, and can’t do as much as you wanted to get done. It is similar in a Yin posture. Patience and tolerance as to how your body is today. Starting slow and moving patiently towards the edge of your comfort zone in a posture. I will be right as rain this evening! High heels got your feet aching?⠀ ⁠⠀ Try this yin yoga pose called Ankle Stretch!⁠⠀ ⁠⠀ How to: ⁠⠀ ⁠⠀ Sit on your shins as you would in Hero Pose. Place your hands on the floor behind you and begin to lean back until you feel stress in the front of your ankles. Very flexible students may lift knees from the floor. Stay 1-2 minutes.⁠⠀ Cues to exit pose: Take a deep breath, press palms firmly into the floor and return to neutral spine. June 2018 I began teaching yoga Full time. Flyefit Drumcondra being my home turf. Our Tuesday night class was brand new. You trusted me to bring Yin into your lives. Trusted the unknown.
