This group was the first that I felt like I was truly leading. Iโ€™ll echo @kjoylipson when she says that teaching is one of the most selfish things you can do, because your students pour into you 10x what you can pour into them. Watching these teachers grow and learn and share was such a privilege. haha this is painful and embarrassing ๐Ÿ˜ฉ but it's my personal blog. I wanted to showcase someone going through the process because all I see are people who are already extremely flexible and it discourages me because I think "I'll never be that flexible". I'm sure you've had those thoughts as well. I made the decision earlier this year to dedicate myself to doing yoga for the rest of my life, listening to my body and taking care of it. Handstand endurance ๐Ÿคธ๐Ÿปโ€โ™€๏ธ. . Is handstand something youโ€™re working on? If it is, maybe you want to do this with me ๐Ÿ˜Š. Iโ€™ve decided I really want to work on my handstand endurance - the length of time I can stay up there. The first video is just short of 40 seconds, by time I get on my hands, and the second video is just short of 60 seconds (itโ€™s sped up). Iโ€™m going to aim to get on my hands for a long hold every day and see if I can build up to a minute without the wall (this public post will make me feel obligated ๐Ÿ˜œ). . So Iโ€™m going to post on my stories my handstand hold, whether thatโ€™s freestanding or on the wall. Itโ€™s actually helpful to train with the wall since it enables you stay longer and that strength and stamina will definitely translate to away from the wall ๐Ÿ’ช๐Ÿป. . Please donโ€™t start with a crazy amount of seconds. If this is new to you, try 10, maybe less. Make sure you have enough energy to get back down again I barely had enough energy left in that first video). And then you can build up. You could do 3 rounds of 10 seconds, and get higher as you build the strength. . Swipe over to see how I get myself on the wall. Measure the distance of your leg, place your hands on the ground where your foot was (I could have been a bit closer). Then one leg to the wall parallel to the ground (not higher) and other in the sky. If you donโ€™t like having one leg in the sky, keep it on the wall! Push yourself away from the ground (always trying to be taller) and pull the ribs in. . Practicing a camel pose with assistance. I prefer grabbing my foot and rotating my arms but there are many ways to go deeper. This is just one example. My teacher also helped me with adjusting my alignment! It has been 4 months since I have tried this pose. How to: Drop back into the wheel pose Follow us @yogamotivationfitness ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿป.โœจ .. . . 1. Measure the distance between your shoulders and the wall. 2. Mountain Pose 3. Lift your spine and your ribs up 4. Drop your head back and look at the ceiling 5. Raise your hands up and towards the wall, keep lifting chest and press your hips forward 6. Look at the wall and walk down the wall with your palms, keep breathing 7. If needed lift your heels up and slightly bend your knees 8. Touch hands down to the floor close to the wall 9. Walk with your feet towards the wall and push your chest to the wall. Breathe. Be safe and patient with your body. Lol went to edit the caption and ended up deleting the bastard photo Anyway, this weekend Joe, his sissy and I put the Christmas tree up whilst drinking wine and listening to Christmas music. Joe then made a banging curry, we watched The Holiday cwtched on the sofa, and had a little dance. The next day, Joe and I met up with some pals at the beach, ended up getting caught in a mini storm, had some seaside chips, came home, and watched Love Actually. What a jolly fucking time. #bossbabemondays
