Growing up I suffered from your typical teenage acne. However, no matter what product I used I could never get my face to clear up. I ended up at the doctor’s office and was put on countless medications over the years. Heck, I even took Accutane at one point to try and clear up my skin. While the Accutane helped the most, I still had breakouts well into my 20s. What I didn’t realize until several years ago was that the products I was using - and my diet - were causing my breakouts. . When my second son was born he was having issues with spitting up and abnormal stools. After consulting with his physician and my chiropractor, we determined through applied kinesiology that my son was sensitive to gluten, dairy, and corn. It turned out that I was too. Not only did my weight drop dramatically - down to a weight I hadn’t seen since high school - but my skin cleared up! No more stubborn acne on my face, arms, back, or chest. No more patches of chicken skin. . So many needless years of suffering and all I had to do was change my diet. . Do you have any small irritating issues like adult acne that have been bothering you? Credit:@lapetitchef Instagram is exploding with Christmas bakes and treats and rightly so! But as much as I love baking, there are days when the inner desi in me craves the good old mithai. Absolutely thrilled with how well these paneer (cottage cheese) jalebis came out! Essentially jalebis are my favourite Indian sweet. Here I revisit home and make these with chhena. A super simple dough that comes together in no time and is then shaped like rolled up pretzels (almost like thin cinnamon buns). I piped them just the way I pipe churros and they came out perfectly, curling around so easily as if it were in a private dance only the batter was privy to. Deep fried till a beautiful sunset orange( I used a saffron essence and also a little orange gel color), it’s then dunked into the sweetest most fragrant cardamom saffron syrup to soak in all the goodness. A couple of hours later you are left with these. Delightful & insanely addictive cottage cheese jalebis. Who wants one? Mama loaf + baby loaf. This gluten free pumpkin bread courtesy of @felicialimhz turned out amazing 😋! The recipe made more than my large loaf pan could handle so baby loaf was born 😍. Making another round to take with us on our Christmas travels. I was diagnosed with a gluten sensitivity earlier this year and was worried I would miss out on all the delicious treats this holiday. Okay so we went to see Star Wars yesterday (side note: EPIC😍🤩🤘!) and I purposely made a tasty superfood shake to bring to the theatre to deter me from bingeing on popcorn & m&m peanuts🍿, and though I still had some, I was much more moderate about my consumption AND much more aware of what I was putting into my body😃!... . And as a result, I didn’t have to go to bed with a tummy ache because I gorged on junk 😍😬🙏🏼 or feel backed up this morning 🙄... . Today’s shake is my pre-workout boost to help my body function at peak performance because I’m feeling slightly (VERY) concerned about today’s workout 😅😬.. in my opinion the toughest workout in my program and it’s been nearly a month since its been on the calendar. Homemade peppermint mocha had been on repeat over here. ❄️And I found a dead simple way to make it! Take a square of my 5 minute peppermint ‘fudge’ (link’s in my bio for the recipe) and mix in a blender with about a cup of strong coffee and a splash of cream. When you only have 5min to make "lunch" lol cut an avocado in half sprinkle the spices of your choice on top (i did garlic and onion powder some nutritional yeast Peruvian aji panka (hot) and lemon juice. Just dip it out with some carrots.
