🔥Pull-Up fix🔥 Here are 2 very common pull up mistakes that will hold back progress, cause pain and create dysfunction in and around the shoulder and scapular region! ————————————————— 1️⃣ Poor starting position 🔑Set your scapula before initiating the pull🔑 Pulling from a passive Internally rotated position closes the space between the humerus and border of the scapula, where your supraspinatus travels through from the border of the scap and onto the humerus. With proper joint centration there should be enough space for it to move without getting impinged but that space will decrease when not in good alignment 🤔 ________________________________________ 2️⃣Upward rotation/ Anterior glide 🔑Keep the scapula set during the entire range of motion🔑 You will often see the scapula rotate upward causing the upper back to round as a way for someone to get closer to the bar, the humerus will also glide forward irritating the bicep tendon, over time causing pain or discomfort on the front side of your shoulder😕 ________________________________________ at The Bar Strength & Conditioning

Still working away at my weakness! So far this "on the minute" training has been the most fun. I'm using a weight that would be challenging for 8-10 reps. I'm then doing 3 reps on the minute for 10 minutes (results in 40-45 sec rest). This allows you to stay focused on technique while still feeling some load and volume. I'm doing this 1/week with other set/rep schemes on other days. The primary day to day variable I'm changing is volume. . The first couple weeks have been challenging to get my reps in with lots of mountain biking and a festival eating in to my possible training days. This is where I think goals and commitments are a really important concept. I've set the goal of 100 reps/week which I've yet to achieve, however I made the commitment to do at least 75/week. Instead of this project falling to the way side when I failed to hit my goal I've stuck to my commitment and got 75 in week 1 and 90 in week 2. This week I should be able to hit my goal of 100 and I'm super excited about it. . 40 reps to go this week before the counter resets to 0 again! Little nervous about a 10 day road trip that's coming up next week.
