This seamark (12m tall-built in 1884) is one of eleven unique seamarks which still remain along the Danish west coast. Every seamark (båke) is a unique geometrical figure that functions as an identity marker to its area. Those seamarks used to have an important practical function as primitive GPSs for sailors, now primarily important to those who travel the hilly dune landscape. All eleven seamarks are now protected, being part of the Danish national heritage. at Denmark
