Day 45. Today we learned to drive a tuk tuk!
After leaving a coffee shop Greg saw an opportunity for a photo in an empty rickshaw. At this point the driver said ‘right it’s your chance, I’m going to teach you guys how to drive!’ After an hour spent laughing and learning how to change gear, avoid cows, goats, a million bikes and cars, he asked if we weren’t too busy later if we could do him a favour. He explained that if he took us to a fancy boutique to just have a ‘look’ around, he would get money for taking us. Since he just spent the past hour with us chatting and letting us drive his tuk tuk around for free we said let’s go!
The shop salesman was pushy and didn’t want us to leave without buying his overpriced Kashmir shawls - we still said no and he was pissed but sure enough our driver got his money and even tried to give us half! Thanks Aaru 🙌🏼 at Fort Cochin
Morning life on the backwaters.
Incredible way to see the local villages, guys doing the early morning paper rounds (throwing newspapers from the canoe!), fish merchants selling produce from their boats, children catching the school ferry, women washing clothing, people swimming and even brushing their teeth... 100% recommend for anyone going to Kerala at Alleppey, Kerala, India

These hands belong to a girl called Neha. She was fascinated with my pale skin and blonde hair and I was just as much drawn to her colourful clothing and henna. After speaking with her for a while I asked if I could take a picture of the intricate henna, I wish I also captured her beautiful face at India
