The sailboats are back and it’s a beautiful day to be reading about glucocorticoids 🤓 at Minneapolis, Minnesota
Woke up to thunderstorms this morning and #uriethecat is v cozy when he’s not begging for attention. 👩💻
I have three projects to touch today- one in later stages, one in the middle stages, and one right in the beginning stages. I LOVE writing on a rainy day with the windows open so we’ll see what gets done...
I’m feeling grateful today for a flexible work schedule, sleep in a real bed, time at home before more travel, and yesterday was full of catching up with lovely people at work and over the phone 😊 at Fulton, Minneapolis
Pretty excited to be lakeside again, less excited to dig myself out of a week’s worth of emails 👩💻 at Minneapolis, Minnesota
We did it!! This is us fresh faced at the trailhead before starting the #transziontrek - 50 miles and 5 days across a truly stunning National Park. It was my first time “leading” a trip and Alex’s first time doing anything in the backcountry. Our feet are beat up and our Midwest bodies are grateful for flat land again but we’re already thinking about the next trip — voyageurs this fall and maybe glacier next year? 🤞 at Zion National Park
On my mind:
1. Cold brew coffee
2. Long weekend plans 🎒🌄🌌
3. I think I need to make living on a body of water a life goal priority at Lake Harriet (Minnesota)
Scoping out houses before Megan’s graduation at Rhode Island
My workspace this morning: sitting on the grass editing a manuscript. This afternoon I’m proposing my orals paper topic to my PI so 🤞🤞 she’ll like it and/or 🤞🤞 we’ll make it a manageable topic to spend my summer on... at UMN-Institute of Child Development
I’m ready for a vacation - maybe it’s because it’s the end of the semester or maybe it’s because summer finally feels like it’s on its way - I’m ready for a little mental/physical getaway from the paper writing and data analysis grind. In other news, does anyone want to make a mini writing accountability group for the summer? Connecting about writing might make it feel like less of a grind when the sun is shining!
Happy Mother’s Day to the woman who’s the best at hugging, raised me to be a water baby, and taught me to jump in feet first and work hard no matter where I land 💕
Getting back into my Saturday morning walks around the lake - and ready for Alex to get home from Brazil today! at Minneapolis, Minnesota
It’s a beautiful day in the neighborhood 😊 but also a cold day in the neighborhood 🤷♀️ at Lake Harriet (Minnesota)
It’s a gorgeous day and this is my Friday mood... but I’m gearing up to get stuff done anyway (on the list: a cardiometabolic risk paper resubmission, data analysis on the immune project, and some outlining for my orals paper) 👩💻 at Fulton, Minneapolis
Minneapolis looked like a painting yesterday morning — and this was about 15 minutes before the rain hit on my walk 🌧 at Minneapolis, Minnesota
Scuba class this morning and ⚾️ this afternoon 👏 at Twins Game at Target Field
One benefit of the concussion... I’m learning how to cat nap like a pro. Sun-spots and purring cats have also helped 🙃🐱☀️
Back in MN and my usual morning routine - it feels so good to see the sun before 7am! Maybe today the ice will melt off the lake 🤞 at Lake Harriet (Minnesota)
Still in Montreal, still figuring out how to analyze this giant dataset 👩💻 thanks for all the words of encouragement - I am 100% outside of my comfort zone and the reminders that a) that’s totally fine and b) that’s how I grow have been necessary 👍 at L'Oratoire Saint-Joseph du Mont-Royal
He’s back home and we both clearly need work on our windy outdoor selfie game... but it was so nice to be a tourist with Alex for the weekend before diving into work the rest of the week. In case you’re wondering, imposter syndrome is real and here in full force this Monday! 👋 at Plateau Mont-Royal
