"I love how this image came together with waiting for the conditions to become perfect after spending just over 4 hours here, 1 hour before the sunset I was starting to think that it will come to nothing and leave but I’m grateful I didn’t!!! I used the photographers friend @photopills to see where the sun will set so I can position the camera correctly, it must have taken me a good hour finding and getting the perfect composition. I was judging the image framing before even taking a photo, like what I do when I get home and think of how I should have done it differently, now with me doing this on location I don’t need to do that now. This is made up of 5 bracketed images 1 stop apart to give me a file with a large dynamic range without bracketing I wouldn’t have got the shot. I used a polariser, 6 stop ND and a 0.9 soft grad for this. No focus stacking was used I just shot at f/11 and checked my areas that would be in focus using live view and aperture preview, I made the set button on my 6D mark II this." - @sdp_photographics

"The first of many tassie flicks! Tip; if anyone is shooting here at night make sure you use a torch, because on the way back I thought I was stepping onto the track but turns out i was facing the wrong way and jumped straight into dove lake at -5 degrees 😂 couldn’t feel anything from the knees down that night..🥶" - @jakemarinov

“I headed off to La Perouse expecting something special, as forecast was promising. I knew it was going to be epic when I came out of the car and saw the colour appearing in the sky well before sunset. And it really did explode very soon.” - @thusith.m

"Did I say I like moments attached to images? Last image here, I’ve had fun, I have too many favourites to choose from but I’ve chosen the five images as they express my connection to why we take photos – we like to tell stories, but never forget to enjoy doing it. This was a first flight to Milford Sounds in New Zealand, reaching our destination just as the sun started to pop over the mountain tops, a perfect mix of shadows, mist and texture." - @aleksanderjason, our guest curator this week

#TAKEOVER “Ben isn’t a new face to the Canon community, he is in many eyes a leading creative of the new generation. Moving image or stills, Ben aka @itchban always finds a way to wow his viewers and everyone viewing his work." - @aleksanderjason, our guest curator this week.

#TAKEOVER “US based photographer @christiangideon Christian has a unique portrait style that flows through out his portfolio. His use of light and colour, and ways to show shadows in a smooth way is unique." - @aleksanderjason

"Simplicity is always key, on a recent trip to Japan my goal was to live my best version of a futuristic world – its no secret Im a fan of Bladerunner and Tron, to be within a city such as Tokyo with their dominance in neon lights and signs, I was excited to see what I could do with it all. Best of all, it rained most days – could not have asked for better “apocalyptic style weather” which mixes in well with the neon lights. Although my favorite shot and series would be the colourfull taxi’s driving through the Shibuya Crossing – a simple mix of colour, pattern and timing." - @aleksandarjason, our guest curator this week

#TAKEOVER "Visiting Africa was a dream destination for both my wife Chantelle and I, Kenya and Tanzania blew our expectations – the world we live in is remarkable, and we hope everyone can put in their part to save it as we go on.
We witnessed the Wildebeest migration through the Masai Mara while hot air ballooning, watching as nature takes over while the sun rises over the horizon (YES we did sing the Lion King song…)" - @aleksandarjason, our guest curator this week

#TAKEOVER “Hola amigos! I’m Aleksandar Jason, based in Melbourne and I am so excited to be a part of this week’s takeover for the @canonaustralia account! Let’s do this.
I don’t know exactly when it all started, but I always was one to try and push boundaries, find ways to achieve goals and not follow rules.
I don’t really have a “favourite” image but I do have a favourite moment, well I have many but the Asia Cup Final in Sydney a few years ago will always be my number 1.
Australia v South Korea Grand Final, winner takes all. Earliest possible flight out of Melbourne to Sydney was 4PM, game kicked off around 730PM – everything was organised the night before. Landed in Sydney, train all the way to the stadium only to find out I missed out on seat selection. Game kicked off, Luongo scores minutes in and the entire celebration, the entire Socceroo squad celebrated right in front of me – 60k fans, 1 moment, all in front of me
I love what I do!" - @aleksandarjason, our guest curator this week
