Yes, I know how to remove that ugly trash can from the picture but I thought that, in a weird sort of way, that ugly trash can “anchors” the picture. However, that’s exactly why I need a buddy for some of my photo-walks (@barb.espi ?! 🙂) - so that one of us can be in the center of the picture, and not an ugly trash can ... at Bronx Community College

Part II of the whimsical #muralart piece by @osgemeos at an empty lot on 14th street (right off 7th Avenue). One day (soon) a building will rise here and block off both pieces - catch the moment to enjoy! 🙂 at New York, New York

“Frosty Freeze” is NOT the name of the artist here 😂 Wayne "Frosty Freeze" Frost (December 4, 1963 – April 3, 2008), also known as The Freeze To Please, was an American old school hip hop b-boy known as a member of the second generation of the hip hop/breakdancing group, Rock Steady Crew. (but I had to research all of that because I just was not around for the b-boy movement in New York 🙂). The artists are @osgemeos (yes, ARE! Identical twin brothers from Brazil!) at Manhattan, New York

This building (on #bronxcommunitycollege campus) was featured as a Russian Embassy in the 2008 film “Burn After Reading” by the Coen brothers. Do you know the name of the architect? Hint: It is the same architect who designed Whitney Museum’s old home on the Upper East Side, now part of the Metropolitan Museum of Art. at Bronx, New York

The Lighthouse Keeper - @damien_mitchell for @centrefugepublicartproject for @greenpointgallery . From this angle, it totally looked as if the Lightkeeper had stuck his head out to give me the squinty look! at Brooklyn, New York

#lookup In 1974, DAVID BOWIE checked into a lavish suite in this hotel, which would become his New York base for the next year. Here he entertained friends, lovers, and fellow rock stars with impromptu jam sessions - and mountains of coke. WHAT IS THE NAME OF THE HOTEL? Hint: It’s located on the corner of 59th Street and Fifth Avenue, and those gigantic gargoyles can be seen as far away as Columbus Circle. at New York, New York

This department store opened in September 1896 and was the first steel-framed building to house the largest store in the world at the time. It was designed in Beaux-Arts style by deLemos & Cordes, who would go on to design Macy’s store in Herald Square. Almost exactly 100 years later, I came to shop here at Filene’s Basement. Even today I came here to pick up an online purchase at one of the retailers that currently share the building ... Which building is that? And where is it located? 🙂 The hint is within the hashtags below 👇🏻 at New York, New York

Sometimes, it’s the simplest of images that can make a big impression... This mural by Kristen Gunn was inspired by a real-life story of a 29-year old mother from Honduras who was separated from her 18-months old son ... Fleeing violence in her country, this mother presented herself at a border checkpoint with all the appropriate documentation. Even though she was legally seeking asylum, her son was forcibly taken from her and they were put in two detention centers about 400 miles away from each other, on either side of Austin, Texas ... #endfamilyseparation endfamilyseparation.com @thegreengunn at Austin, Texas
