@chefmaxhardy and Chef Vang showing up for the people, bringing together chefs, sourcing donated foods and cooking free meals for those in need. “In addition to his Caribbean fusion, Too Many Cooks in the Kitchen For Good has a Thai influence from chef Genevieve Vang at Bangkok 96 Street Food. There’s also a particular flavor courtesy of restauranteurs Ron Bartell at Kuzzo’s Chicken and Waffles, and Stephanie Byrd of Flood’s Bar and Grille and The Block. Phil Jones from the Detroit catering collective, Ma Haru, is working the phones, keeping the supply of food coming.” The next few months are going to be tough for small businesses and those in the service industry. Many won’t open their doors back up - but if they do, let’s remember the people who are out there doing good in the community.

Our doors are closed. But our staff still has rent to pay, families to support, & Netflix subscriptions to maintain.
While we look for the funding sources we’ll need to keep our business open once the COVID era ends, we’re also aware of the hardships closing our doors causes for our staff. At this point, with no emergency funding secured, we’re looking to the generosity of our friends, family and customers to help our DSC fam get through the next few weeks (or months).
So have a drink at home. Support the staff who wishes they could serve you your beer. Or clean up your trays after your quarantine dinner. Tip a few dollars, every bit helps.

As many of you are aware, for public safety the State of Michigan has required businesses to close their doors. Starting today, until April 5th (at a minimum), Detroit Shipping Company will be closed to the public.
Our vendors are not offering pick up or delivery options, so this will be a full closure for not only our business, but the eight vendors who share our space.
We realize this has a severe impact on the lives of our staff - this quarantine is hitting the hospitality industry especially hard. So we would encourage everyone to support your friends and family who work in the industry.
Stay tuned, as we’ll be working on some ways to help your friendly neighborhood bartenders and staff during this difficult time.
Be safe and be prepared for a grand re-opening when this is all in our rear-view.

DSC friends and family,
Due to the recent COVID-19 developments, we will be capping entry to DSC at 200 people until April 5th. There may also be closures of some of our restaurants, as each operator is making their own decision about whether to remain open or not. Currently, Momo Cha is not open.
We will post any closure information to Facebook and Instagram as it happens.
Also, please note the following:
313 Comedy Sunday - Canceled
St Patrick’s Day Party - Postponed
Nain Rouge Party - Canceled
Opening Day Party - Postponed
We will continue monitoring the situation and keep you informed of any updates to our hours or policies, as a full closure at some point is likely.
Vendors will be handing out sealed utensils with orders as soon as we receive inventory. And we will continue to wash our hands, keep surfaces clean and require bar employees who display symptoms to stay home.
Thank you and stay safe.
