Cycling through the Scottish Highlands in the wind and rain, having just ran out of food, wasn’t pretty. Then we stumbled across an odd place - part church, part inn, and a yapping dog called Randy or Brandy. We ate a little and slept a lot, got eaten by a lot of little midges, but then the following morning everything was pretty again. #tandemdiaries at Scotland

Another instance when I stopped for a tree photo but this time something else piqued my interest straightaway. Cute, right? at Scotland

The reoccurring theme throughout this trip was definitely ‘Stop, stop, stoooop! I want a photo of that tree’. #tandemdiaries at Scotland

Anyone else got a thing for gulls? Spent some time watching these guys whilst waiting for a ferry to Cromarty. As always we got our directions mixed up and ended up at the ferry crossing. Oh and did you know, apparently there’s no such thing as a ‘sea’ gull. #tandemdiaries

Exploring Edinburgh with wet shoes and tired legs. It was the first time in a couple hundred miles we actually got to see and feel sunlight. #tandemdiaries

Rare night time ride before we broke/lost all of our bike lights. #tandemdiaries

For the past 3 or so weeks we’ve been cycling on a tandem from John O’Groats to Lands End. I was going to say a big F-you to the hills of Devon and Cornwall, but it’s all a bit of a blur now and I swear it wasn’t that bad in the end. Anyway... over the next few days I’ll be sharing some snaps in no particular chronological order. I guess this photo (spotted in Edinburgh) is a tribute to our legs that made it this far. As for the tandem, you can spot it on my profile in the ‘Touring’ highlights. #tandemdiaries at Portobello, Edinburgh
