SEE THE TERORIZING ABUSE "WORK HORSES" GO THROUGH, WHEN THEY ARE ENSLAVED...these majestic animals are not meant to be our beasts of burden...they have every right to live from our intrusion...out in the wild, as they ware meant to...but if we need to have them in sanctuaries, becasue they were bred into slavery, do not ride their backs...we have our own legs, they are not our free ride...they want you off their backs...THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS A "WORKING" ANIMAL! DO YOUR OWN WORK. In this age of mechanical transportation at our disposal, this abuse is unacceptable! Animal Freedom Fighters...

(Turn up the ๐Ÿ”Š๐Ÿ”Šsound) VICTIM OF THE EXOTIC PET TRADE Voodoo is a rescue animal, an African spotted leopard that came to Cedar Cove at 5 months old. Voodoo was purchased at three months of age by a private couple from a breeder with the intention of making him a house pet and playmate to two full grown rottweiler dogs. He was declawed on all paws but still overpowered his purchasers. He was deemed too rough and aggressive to keep, at which point he was brought to William Pottorff at the Cedar Cove Feline Sanctuary. Declawing is equivalent of cutting off the ends of your fingers. It's a cruel practice that lead to long term problems. One of the most agile of all feline species, their compact, powerful form, allows leopard to be graceful climbers either pursuing prey into the trees, taking fresh prey upwards where they can dine in safety, or silently lying in wait to ambush unsuspecting prey below. Feats impossible without claws. Rescue animals like Voodoo that have been socialised (and declawed) at some point will never be candidates for rehabilitation and release into the wild. Thanks to selfish people who abuse these beautiful animals, their lives are now left in the hands of animal protectors to care for them. This is obviously not typical leopard behaviour. Years of trust and bonding will not eliminate the threats all wild carnivores represent and this respect must be present at all times. _ Video by Cedar Cove Tiger Park #exoticpettrade #leopard #declawed #mutilated #wildlifesanctuary

#Repost @onegreenplanet Exciting news for elephant lovers everywhere! Vietnam is about to begin its first ethical elephant tours, replacing chains and cruel rides with education and observation of these beautiful animals in their natural habitat. Yok Don National Park, as part of an initiative by Animals Asia with funding from the Olsen Animal Trust, has ended all tourist elephant rides, offering new tourism experiences instead. The parkโ€™s four elephants are free to roam the natural forest of the park, meaning tourists can learn about the normal behavior of elephants and see them at their best. In the past, these elephants worked for nine hours each day entertaining tourists. Today, the elephants are already looking better! They are growing more confident, roaming farther, and now spending up to 18 hours foraging a day like they would do if they were in the wild. Animals Asia Animal Welfare Manager Dionne Slagter said: โ€œThis project has entirely changed the lives of the elephants at the park and it is also providing a much better experience for the tourists. Exploitation has been replaced with respect and if successful, itโ€™s a model we could see spread across the country and even the region.โ€ #animalrights #savetheanimals #animals #animalsofig #animalrightsactivist #animalrightsmovement #friendsnotfood #protectwildlife #protectendangeredspecies #animalwelfare #vegan #lifeisbeautiful #animalsareourfriends #imagreenmonster #animallover #chooselife #compassion #noanimalsharmed #animalmonster #animalrescue #elephant #saveelephants #elephantlove #ellies #conservation #nature

_ The famous 'Circle of Life' Lion King scene - where Simba is lifted above the African planes - has been re-enacted in real life by a monkey. _ Life imitated art when the mother was seen lifting up her baby aloft to recreate the iconic cinematic spectacle. _ Photographer Dafna Ben Nun captured the moment the baboon and her infant recreated the much-imitated scene. _ The 38-year-old captured the incredible real-life 'Lion King' moment whilst on a trip to Zimbabwe. _ During her trip to the Southern African country to learn about the local wildlife, Dafna was instantly surprised to see the two monkeys recreating such a well-known moment. _ The animals, that are native to South Africa, are often found in open savannah and open hills around Africa. _ Dafna, from Israel, said: 'I couldn't believe it when I saw an adult baboon holding a baby, looking exactly like Simba in the Lion King. _ 'It was just a split second, but it was fascinating to watch. _ 'They were all in the same group so no harm was done to any of the animals.' The scene was made famous in the 1994 film with the soundtrack featuring Elton John. _ In the movie baboon Rafiki, similar to the one more recent recreation, lifts the newborn Simba on the edge of a cliff as the chorus to 'Circle of Life' plays. _ https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-6294609/Its-real-life-circle-life-Monkey-holds-baby-aloft-just-like-scene-Lion-King.html _ #circleoflife #lionking #simba #monkey #zimbabwe #iconicscene

_ EPIC RESILIENCE After being shot five times and losing two daughters during the poaching crisis of 2009 - 2013, Monsoon, the matriarch of the Storms 2 herd, has amazed researchers by giving birth again for the first time in nine years. This short clip taken by STE's Scientific Board Chair, George Wittemyer today shows Monsoon with her newborn son, who was born mid September. Monsoon (estimated to be in her mid 50s) is one of the oldest elephants in Samburu National Reserve. Not only is she a fighter, but sheโ€™s also infamous for proving scientists wrong when she led her Storms family up Koitogor, one of the biggest hills in Samburu National Reserve. Monsoon has one surviving daughter, Hurricane, who was born in 2004, and a son - born in 2009. This latest birth is another sign of recovery and resilience. #elephants #Monsoon #StormsFamily #SamburuNationalReserve #babies Via @savetheelephants

A day after the Nagpur Bench of Bombay High Court sought to know from the Forest Department why the tigress T1 from Pandharkawda hasnโ€™t attacked anyone from August 28 if she was a habitual man-eater, T1 was physically seen and also captured on camera trap. The tigress, incidentally, passed close to the Forest Department base camp at Sarati village around 9 pm on Tuesday and was captured on a camera trap there. On Wednesday morning, she killed a cow belonging to farmer Vitthal Thakre from Sarati in compartment number 157 around 10 am. The farmer panicked and rushed to the camp and informed the authorities. A team of three trackers, veterinary doctor Ravi Khobragade and shooter Shafat Ali Khan and his team rushed to the place. When the trackers went inside the forest along with the farmer, the tigress ferociously growled and charged at them. โ€œIt was extremely risky and hence virtually impossible to tranquilize the tigress,โ€ sources said. Shockingly, the tigress appeared to have walked the road close to the camp situated at the opening of compartment number 150 and headed towards Sarati village. โ€œWe spotted her pug-marks just about 200 m from the village which is quite an ominous sign. It means the tigress could be back to her aggressive ways after we have strategically reduced patrolling and tracking pressure to lure her out of her hiding,โ€ sources said. The situation is poised to become precarious under the circumstances once again as the farmers can still be seen watering their farms at night when they get the power supply. On Monday, one of the cubs of the tigress was spotted by a tracking team near Anji village. The tracking and tranquilizing teams called off the tigressโ€™s chase around 5.30 pm. โ€œWe will have to step up our night patrolling to prevent the tigress from hurting anyone,โ€ sources said. _ Source - https://indianexpress.com/article/india/maharashtra-man-eater-tigress-sighted-near-sarati-village-5406473/ _ #letavnilive #letavnilivefree #letavnilivepage #india
