It's Friday...but who's keeping track anymore? These days I've been keeping a gratitude journal. Life feels like a roller coaster right now. One day I'm on top of the world, and the next it's gloomsday. When I'm in a positive headspace, I like to jot down the things I’m thankful for, like these six couples. They have all had to either cancel or postpone their weddings. I could not even begin to imagine what that must be like, but am so incredibly thankful they are still including me in their wedding story in some way. I can't wait to celebrate with each of these sweet couples soon! #allinthistogether #loveisnotcancelled

Holding my babies tight these days. Their innocence and obliviousness to the world has been a saving grace for me. It's ok to turn off the news and forget about what you can't control for a bit. Time, even if forced is a gift. Remember that. #momsofinstagram #waitt

Hi! I'm Emily! I'm a wedding and family photographer based in Richmond VA. These past two weeks of #socialdistancing have been a challenge, but the silver lining for me has been more time with my family. With less distractions and a slower pace, we are able to just focus on each other. I miss my friends and the rest of our families, and can't wait to get back out and do what I love once this is finally over. Comment below with something you miss, and your silver lining.

Breathe in. Breathe out. Be grateful. Be still.

Times are weird right now…But I’m grateful for all of this nice weather, extra time with my family, and a sense of peace that this too will pass. I had my freak out moment, and now I’m looking toward the future. I have a feeling that when we come out of this the world will be forever changed, and in such a good way. I’ve learned a lot in these past few days, and have a fresh new perspective on this short and precious life. However you’re feeling in this moment, please know that you are not alone and we will get through this together. 🤍

Think of all this extra time at home as an opportunity to get closer. Have a date night in with your partner. Turn on the music. Dance in the kitchen. Light some candles. Just enjoy being together. Xx

Today our sitter went home sick, so I had to take the rest of the day off to care for these two. Better to be safe than sorry during this uncertain time. Although there are so many questions right now, I do know for sure that my unwavering reason for why I do what I do is my family. I don’t share nearly enough about them on this account out of fear of boundaries, etc., but that changes now. Here’s to vulnerability, perspective, and alllllll the love! Take care of yourselves and those around you. Arm yourself with information, and know that this too will pass. 🤍

Happy Thursday friends! The week is winding down, and March is almost halfway over (whaaaa?). I am in full Spring Fever mode over here. It's been a long Winter, and I am so looking forward to the things I have planned over the next couple of months. From a very much needed girls weekend away, attending a creative shoot, some fun networking events, and a photo session with my littles...all of the things that are so good for the soul and keep me out of my little bubble. How are you planning to welcome the Spring season?

It's honesty hour, so here goes...I guess you could say I am a recovering perfectionist. The first step is admitting you have a problem, right? . I need help deciding how to share the perfect and imperfect, incorporating real life along with my photography in this feed. I want to bring back the fun of Instagram, instead of feeling the pressure to have a perfectly curated feed. . Please share your words of wisdom in the comments, or just tell me I'm not alone in this. Xx

Another rainy Winter day has me wishing for snow instead. Anyone else?

Meet Emily and Joe! They are most excited about capturing movement and emotion on their wedding day. I can’t wait until their first dance as husband and wife. 💃🏼🕺
