We have a soft spot for triangles and inverted pyramids, which we have been posting on and off in the past years. Hence we were delighted to just discover one more, the Reiyukai Shakaden Temple by the Takenaka Corporation in Tokyo (1975). We just pillaged here and there some pictures online, but would love to learn and see more. Reiyukay is a neo-buddist religious movement, founded in 1920, http://reiyukai.jp Takenaka is a construction and engineering firm that dates back to 1610. https://www.takenaka.co.jp

Stealing from the Facebook page of Mario Lupano, officially architecture historian, but much more than that, http://www.iuav.it/Ateneo1/docenti/design-e-a/docenti-st/Mario-Lupa/index.htm, we downloaded and are here re-posting an amazing series of pictures from the Italian radical theater collective, Gruppo Altro, formed in 1972. So many interesting connections between notational drawings (such as in early Bernard Tschumi), the inter-relation between architecture, choreography and theater, that dates back to Russian Constructivists and the Bauhaus and political engagement. But also Kurt Schwitters (https://nuovoteatromadeinitaly.sciami.com/altro-merz-1973-1974/daniele-vergni-merzbot-perilli-altro-merz-1973-sciami-2018/) and many other sources. Two links to PDFs extracted from this book, http://ffmaam.it/pubblicazioni/gruppo-altro-1981 by Edizioni Kappa. One by Giuseppe Bertolucci, http://ffmaam.it/GALLERY/0-1181562667-PUBBLICAZIONI-1981_gruppo_altro_estratti_bartolucci.pdf And the second a general intrduction http://ffmaam.it/GALLERY/0-1181562733-PUBBLICAZIONI-1981_gruppo_altro_estratti_altro.pdf

Three things from Milton Keynes, the quintessential British and modernist New Town: two contemporary and one from the past. 1 The recently inaugurated expansion of the MK Gallery, designed by the always intriguing 6A Architects, http://www.6a.co.uk/projects/more/mk_gallery 6A got their excellent El Croquis monograph, https://elcroquis.es/products/n-192-6a-architects-2009-2017 The gallery site is here, https://www.mkgallery.org/ 2 The open call for proposal, launched by Raumlabor Berlin (http://raumlabor.net/) for the Crossroads Festival, in the fall of 2019. Here the PDF about how to apply, https://files.persona.co/82845/afcul2019_crossroads.pdf 3 And from the past, some of the amazing illustrations by architect and illustrator Helmut Jacoby.

I deeply admire this man, sleeping since two hours in one of the noisiest environments on earth, a suburban indoor playground, called Funtropolis.
