Salutè a te, Firenze🥂 ::::: I have spent the best summer of my life with you and your utmost magnificence, culture, history, language (and pasta and wine 🍝🍷) that has enhanced my life in countless ways. ::::: From my first visit with you when I was 20, to this moment, you have been and will always be my favorite city in the world! I can’t wait to be embraced by the big hug I always feel from you in the future, so until then, torno subito amore mia 🧡🧡🧡 ::::: (don’t worry, more Florence content and projects will still be coming your way for a bit longer 😝 dress link in bio) at Florence, Italy

“Put a compass to paper and trace a circle. Then tell me which other country has such a concentration of places like Amalfi, Naples, Ischia, Procida, Sorrento, Positano, Pompeii, and Capri” - Diego Della Valle ::::: I’ve always dreamed of going to Capri, and today was the day I got to visit 🌊 the island was so beautiful, I didn’t even know natural beauty or the color of the water like that existed! Who else fell in love with Capri?! 💙 #IsolaDiCapri #Capri (bathing suit link in bio) at Capri, Italy

Ticked another check off of my sightseeing bucket list today! Spoiler alert: Pompeii was INCREDIBLE 🏛 ::::: We’ve all heard the stories and histories of the ancient city of Pompeii that was nearly erased by a volcanic eruption from nearby Monte Vesuvio, covering the city in nearly 20 feet of ash and pumice. Pompeii as we know it was “rediscovered” in the mid-1700’s, and has been attracting tourists for nearly 250 years! ::::: Getting to see this legendary place first hand, to walk through the streets, and hear about the histories of the culture, people, and city was really incredible!! Have you been to Pompeii yet?! #pompeii at Pompeii, Italy

Heading south to the coast this weekend, and I’ve never been more excited for a weekend getaway 🤩 can you guess where I’m going?! (Hint: it’s a famous place I’ve been dreaming of visiting for yeeears) 🌊🍋👙☀️🛥 ::::: {ps: this is my FAVORITE bathing suit I’ve ever owned by @mondayswimwear, find it in my bio link 😘} at Livorno, Italy

On today’s episode of “little people, enormous ancient monuments”, we visit the Colosseum! 🏟️ ::::: This was my second time touring il Colosseo, and it’s unbelievable how much history was packed into our tour. The entire structure was started on 70 CE under Emperors Vespasian and Titus & only took 10 years to build, it was built by thousands of Jewish slaves (😢), all of the marble that covered the interior and exterior was repurposed by the Vatican, could seat more than 50,000 people, and all of our modern stadiums are based on this structure!!! ::::: Seven million people visit il Colosseo each year, have you been yet?! at Colosseo

What did I wish for? That’s one secret I’ll never tell 🤫 (gossip girl voice) ::::: The legend of the Trevi Fountain says you should stand with your back to the fountain, hold the coin with your right hand, and toss a coin over your left shoulder to guarantee a return trip to Rome! ::::: It’s estimated that €3,000 are thrown into the fountain each day, and the money all goes to charity .... how awesome is that?!! #TreviFountian ::: 📍 La Fontana di Trevi, Roma, Italia at Trevi Fountain, Rome Italy

Sotto il cielo di Roma ✨ ::::: I’m so excited to be spending the weekend in Rome! And I also can’t get that Dean Martin song out of my head 😂 at Scalo Sant’Angelo

0

la Cappella degli Scrovegni ✨ ::::: Let’s talk about the color BLUE 💙 in old master paintings, blue was the most expensive paint because it was made from the semi-precious stone, lapis lazuli, that was mined and exported from Afghanistan, and imported through Venice; it’s preciousness was sometimes more valuable than GOLD! Talking more about this unbelievable sight and my trip to finally see it last weekend, after years of study on The Curator 💙 peep my stories for some more #scrovegnichapel #renaissanceart #arthistorynerd at Scrovegni Chapel

Start each day with a grateful heart ❤️ :::: In my prayers, meditations, and thoughts each day, my mindfulness and appreciation for this summer in Italy always first on my mind. It’s interesting to see how life plays out retrospectively .... that all of the ups and downs we might endure will all be okay in the end. The last few years had brought me a number of frustrations I couldn’t see myself out of at the time, (it might not “look” like it, but Instagram is a highlight reel!!!) but seeing everything now, I’m okay with how it all turned out that lead me to this exact moment ❤️ {outfit link in bio} ::::: 📍 Ponte dell’Accademia, Venezia, Italia at Venice, Italy

Early Florentine mornings 💛 ::::: Did you know the Ponte Vecchio is the oldest bridge in Florence?! It’s name literally means “old bridge”, and was built in 1345!!!!! 🤯 It has survived devastating floods, several earthquakes, and was the only bridge that was not destroyed during the Hitler’s bombings in WWII. ::::: And those little “houses” have been home to jewelry stores since 1593, after shops like fish mongers, butchers, and tanners couldn’t show Florence’s wealth .... also, it probably got very smelly 😂😂😂 Have you walked over the Ponte Vecchio?! #PonteVecchio #DiscoverFlorence ::::: 👗: @galmeetsglam 👡: @castanerofficial 📸: @ostrigg at Ponte Vecchio

We rented a @fiat, drove 2 & 1/2 hours through glorious Tuscany to arrive to the sulfur springs of Cascate del Mulino, (where I’m pretty sure we were the only non-Italians there 😂), spent a few hours in the sun at the falls, pit-stopped in Siena for a walk and a Spritz, then back to Florence we came, while making some hilarious and unforgettable memories (like driving through the Piazza del Duomo, a place where cars probably aren’t allowed) #CascateDelMolina #tuscany #daytrip ::::: 👙: @mondayswimwear 📸: @ostrigg at Le Cascate Del Mulino Di Saturnia, Grosseto, Toscana

I added another tick to my art history bucket list today ✔️ ::::: I’ve studied and learned about the frescoes in the Brancacci Chapel, and their artist Massacio, for countless years now, so to have seen it in person for the first time was absolutely MIND BLOWING!!! 💫 The chapel shows the life cycle of Saint Peter, and feature some of the most famous frescoes in the world! If you really want to make the most of your visit, grab an audio guide for €5, or book a guided tour!! ❤️ :::: PS ... can we just talk about this ceiling quickly?! This is my third trip in Florence, my second trip seeing this, but today was my first visit inside of the Basilica of Santa Croce!!! 💙 I have to start by saying that I was BLOWN AWAY by everything ... there are more than 800 years of history in these walls, including famous frescoes, priceless art, important reliquaries, and some of the most famous Italians that ever lived are buried here ... do you know who?!! (peep my stories for more) 😉 at Santa Croce, Florence

Andiamo in Spiaggia!! ::::: We spent the most wonderful day at a beach club in the coastal town of Livorno, Italy 🌊 ::::: I have never seen more Speedo’s or bikinis in my whole life - being worn by literally everyone! Younger, older, thinner, curvier, were all rocking their swimsuits without the thought of self consciousness or insecurity, they just wanted to have a fun day with friends and family in the sea! Their mentality even made me more comfortable and confident in my bathing suit (case in point!). Without getting into a lengthy body positivity post, I think we should all aim to be more like the coastal Italians!! 🇮🇹🇮🇹🇮🇹 . 👙: @mondayswimwear 📸: @pippa_loves .
