There’s a bit of a backstory behind this picture. This was a overnight backpacking trip 2000ft elevation gain in about 5 miles. It was 80-90 degrees out when we started our hike, the air was full of smoke from nearby fires. About an hour into the hike I began to feel a migraine coming on. I popped a few Advils and kept going. Another hour goes by and my head is pounding. I felt weak and nauseous. By this time we had completely finished all our water; and the only sources of water along this route are at the trailhead and at the destination. The next hour was probably the worst hour of my life. I threw up multiple times, and could barely make it up the final ascent. When we finally arrived, I immediately went to bed and woke up to this view. It was the silver lining to an otherwise terrible trip.
