Decided to try to hand scissor Hula from head to toe today, and I think we are please with the results! I find the clip combs leave lots of clipper lines in her super soft coat. Love this look for her! She stands perfectly still like a statue for her groom. Love this dog!

Trust is a very important bond to have in a relationship with your dog. This is Jasmine, my toy poodle. When we first got her at 6 months she was absolutely terrified of the world around her. She was clingy, sucky, afraid of anything new. Garbage bags and vacuums were the enemy. This is Jasmine at 6 years old, sitting on a railing, two story's high. She Loves life, loves any human that looks at her, and she is confident in herself, even though she has moments of doubt. There are very few things she is afraid of now. A great friend of mine, showed me this trust, confidence and bond building exercise to do with your dog. Putting your dog on things. We started out with small, and low things. Tuna cans, Park benches, boulders, fire Hydrants, park equipment, peanut butter jars, and then got a little higher each time. She practices a "stay" for about 1-2 min until I reward her with praise and usually a treat! Jasmine has learned to trust me, and know that I won't let her fall. But more importantly she has learned to trust in her own ability! It has taken a lot of time and practice. Sometimes it will take her a minute to get stable and comfortable. But I hold onto her until she's 85% sturdy, then begin to let go and let her learn how to trust herself. I believe this practice is important for any dog, but extra important for small dogs that are terrified of the world. Help them build their trust in you and themselves. If Jasmine shows that she is hesitant or afraid of something, i don't baby her and pick her up, I make her walk by it or sit near it, 5 or however many times it takes for her to no longer be nervous of it. It works! See more of her brave conquests at @jasminethetoypoodle Thanks @billiejohorvathgrooming for the life changing training tips! at Canmore, Alberta
