That’s a wrap of Qualifications at @dohagym2018, with our #WAG girls ending up ranked 15th in the Team event. This means we have automatically qualified a team for the 2019 World Championships and remain on track for @tokyo2020 🇦🇺
Unfortunately that’s a wrap for our Aussies at this year’s World Championships, with @erinmodaro_gymnast just missing out on the Individual All-Around Final, finishing ranked 35th AA (before applying the 2 gymnasts per country rule)
It was a mixed bag of results for our Aussie girls during Qualifications, but with the final day of prelims looming, we currently sit 8th AA in the team competition - on track to achieving our goal of Top 24 💚💛
@erinmodaro_gymnast was our highest ranked athlete in the Individual All-Around competition, and currently sits in 16th position, with 5 Subdivisions still to compete today.
And tonight it’s our girls’ turn 💛💚 Good luck girls, let’s do this 👊🏼

And at the end of 10 Subdivisions (approximately 280 gymnasts) Australia has finished a heartbreaking 25th - one position out of the target of top 24 which would have seen us automatically qualify a team for the 2019 World Championships.
As hard as this is on our team and their coaches the guys had 5 quality apparatus, including Tyson Bull, sitting in 3rd reserve position for the High Bar Final (11th place in the World)!
Wishing our #MAG team the best of luck as they take to the floor for Qualifications at @dohagym2018 tonight 🇦🇺 Go our there and show the world what you can do! 👊🏼

Congratulations to the following #RG athletes who have been selected to @danniprince’s Shooting Stars Program for 2018/19:
Georgia Conway (NSW / Le Ray Gymnastics Academy)
Tahlya Smith (ACT / Elementz Rhythmic Gymnastics)
Jordana Shillington (WA / Vital Rhythmic Gymnastics)
With the Program being in it's first year, Danielle was overwhelmed with almost 40 applications from across Australia and abroad! The Program aims to recognise, celebrate and support athletes who have those intangible qualities that are seen in a champion in the making. The future is bright for these three talented athletes and Danielle looks forward to working with the girls over the next 12 months to help them become the best gymnasts they can be - well done Georgia, Taylah and Jordana! ✨

Great to see that both Artistic and Rhythmic Gymnastics have once again been included in the schedule for the Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games!

The Sport and Venue Programme for the Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games was confirmed and celebrated today, Friday 19 October, as five Team England medallists joined Birmingham 2022 Chairman John Crabtree and pupils from Mapledene Primary School for a sporting showcase at Birmingham’s National Exhibition Centre – one of the key venue clusters for the Games, which take place from 27 July to 7 August 2022.
17 thrilling sports will take place over 11 days of action-packed competition, at venues across the host city and throughout the West Midlands and beyond. Over one million tickets will be available – and go on sale closer to the event. All of the venues are already open – with the exception of the new Aquatics Centre planned to be built in Sandwell – and well-established and experienced hosts of world-class sport. This was a key benefit of the original bid, supporting the Games Partners and Commonwealth Sports Movement’s ambitions to increase the efficiency and affordability of hosting the Games.
