. . Since I had a lot messages regarding the fact that I only did one cardio session, last week!. . I thought Iโ€™d clarify something! . This, is the concept a lot people, who canโ€™t stick to their diet & therefore fail to maintain their weight loss, struggle with; . ๐Ÿ’ฅYOU SHOULD ONLY DO THE MINIMUM POSSIBLE, THAT STILL GIVES YOU THE DESIRED RESULT๐Ÿ’ฅ . By that, I mean โ€˜why would I do more cardio, if I can get the results I want, with just one cardio session?!โ€™ ๐Ÿคท๐Ÿผโ€โ™€๏ธ . Same goes for your diet โ€˜Why would I cut out carbs from my diet, when I can get results that I want without doing it?!โ€™ ๐Ÿค”. . . Once I stop getting results (hit a plateau) I might add another cardio session, ask my nutrition coach to adjust my calories, but โ€˜till then there is no need, in fact, I would be stupid to! ๐Ÿ’๐Ÿผโ€โ™€๏ธ. . . . . This is where people set themselves up for a failure, from the word go, they go all in,๐Ÿ”ซโ€™s blazing, cutting out all carbs from their diet, doing ridiculous amounts of cardio etc. . What are you gonna do when what youโ€™re doing stops working?! ๐Ÿค” add another cardio session to each day?! F**k that! ๐Ÿ‘‹๐Ÿ˜…. . Keep as many tools in your toolbox, so that you can keep on adding/adjusting things, when you need to! ๐Ÿ”จ๐Ÿ”ง๐Ÿ”ฉ๐Ÿ‘Œ. . . The whole point is, that it is actually meant to be sustainable & enjoyable! ๐Ÿ’ฏ . . Happy #humpday ๐Ÿ’–๐Ÿ’๐Ÿผโ€โ™€๏ธ. . . Guess what I trained today?! ๐Ÿ˜. . . . . . So for the past few months I have been hitting my glutes hard! ๐Ÿ‘Š๐Ÿป๐Ÿ˜ˆ. . . But hereโ€™s the thing, by hard I donโ€™t necessarily mean heavy! ๐Ÿ’๐Ÿผโ€โ™€๏ธ. . . . . Hypertrophy, is a fine balance between lifting heavy (achieving overload) & mind-muscle-connection!๐Ÿง . . Donโ€™t get me wrong, I CAN squat 100kg & hip thrust 180, but I very seldomly nowadays do! ๐Ÿ™…๐Ÿผโ€โ™€๏ธ. . I feel that, Iโ€™ve personally, got more gains from using the glute-band/bodyweight/lighter weight exercises, where I actually really feel it where I should do! ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ”ฅ. . Whreas constantly lifting heavy, would give me thickness where I donโ€™t want it... on my quads, around my waist for example! โณ. . . After all, I am not training to be strong, I am purely training for aesthetics, so for me itโ€™s actually irrelevant what the weight that I lift is! ๐Ÿคท๐Ÿผโ€โ™€๏ธ. . . . . . . . Ps. Double posting on a Friday night?! ... clearly living that cray, cray lifestyle of staying in, instead of going out, on a Friday night!๐Ÿ‘‹๐Ÿ˜…. . . . . . . . So hereโ€™s the thing!. . I have gone YEARS, without wearing a bikini/swimsuit in public! #nowordofalie โœŒ๏ธ. I just never felt comfortable, felt too out of shape, in one!. . . . But nowadays! a Different story! ...even though,right now, I feel a tad bigger/fluffier, than Iโ€™d like to be, I still feel confident in my own skin!. . . But you know what the difference now is?!. It is that, the majority of my body weight now is muscle, and therefore my body still maintains that body shape, that the muscle underneath gives me.... whereas, if I didnโ€™t have the muscle & was the same body weight, at a higher body fat percentage, i would not look in shape at all & would not have that same shape!๐Ÿ™…๐Ÿผโ€โ™€๏ธ. . . Saturday workout killed!๐Ÿ’ฅ๐Ÿ”ซ. . . . . . . Putting on muscle is hard, especially for women!. Trust me, You wonโ€™t accidentally โ€˜get bigโ€™ lifting weights! ๐Ÿ‘‹๐Ÿ˜…. . . It takes time, dedication & continuous hard work! ๐Ÿ’ฏ. . . . . . . My top three tips for gaining/maintaining muscle, that have personally worked for me, are; . . 1. Train like your life depends on it! ๐Ÿ’ช๐Ÿป๐Ÿ˜ˆ. The only way for your body to grow, is to Force it to adapt!. . . . 2. Eat! Fuel your body! Especially pre/post workout!. ๐Ÿฅ‘๐Ÿž๐Ÿณ๐Ÿฅฆ๐Ÿ—. There are not many occasions I would do my workouts fasted! Why would I put my body in a state, where it might use my hard earned muscle for fuel! ๐Ÿคท๐Ÿผโ€โ™€๏ธ. . . . 3. Rest! Happy #flexfriday ๐Ÿ’ช๐Ÿป๐Ÿฐ. . . . This morning I felt like getting my sweat on, so I did a quick hiit workout! ๐Ÿ’ฆ. . . . . Hereโ€™s what I did; . 10mins of sprints, 30secs on/30secs off on 17km/hr (I have lil legs, so for me, that is a sprint!๐Ÿ‘Œ๐Ÿ˜…). . Followed by; . Kettlebell squat & press. . Box steps. . Press-ups. . Burpees. . Walking lunges. . Pull-ups. . 3x15 of each (apart from pull-ups as currently I can only do 5 unassisted ๐Ÿ™ˆ) . . Followed by 10 more mins of sprints!. . . . . . Thatโ€™s one of my go-to, quick calorie blasters! And the endorphin rush afterwards is lush! ๐Ÿ™Œ๐Ÿป. . . . Not gonna lie, just standing on the platforms,at high up, absolutely petrified me! ๐Ÿ™ˆ. . In fact the trapeze & the agility bits were actually a nice distraction from the fact that I was high up! ๐Ÿฆ…. .
