Anyone who has attempted to have a go at changing their body-composition, knows that the hitting the weights and doing the CV is easy, controlling what goes through your lips 24hrs a day is the tricky bit!๐Ÿฐ๐Ÿบ๐ŸŒญ๐Ÿ”๐Ÿฌ๐Ÿ’ฏ. . . . If you donโ€™t know where to get started to get your diet to support your goals, instead of holding you back from them or you just need a hand calculating you macros/calories etc. -ask for help! ๐Ÿ’๐Ÿผโ€โ™€๏ธ. Speak to a personal trainer/ qualified nutritionist!. You may well need to pay for their services, but itโ€™s money well spent! I think by now we all know about the positive effects exercise & healthy eating have on our mental health! ๐Ÿ’›. . . . So I thought Iโ€™d share an honest post on how the lack of exercise, over the past few months, has effected me!. . . . I would genuinely say that as a standard rule, I am a positive, happy person! ๐Ÿ™ƒ. I would wake up in the morning & maybe not be jumping-for-joy-happy every day,but most certainly content! โ˜€๏ธ. . . But ever since, I havenโ€™t been able to get in my normal 5-6 workouts/week, I have been progressively feeling more & more down each week! ๐Ÿ˜ถ. . . & I am usually a pretty confident as a person too, but I am finding myself feeling insecure, when ordinarily I wouldnโ€™t! ๐Ÿ˜’. . . . I am hoping, now that I am gradually able to increase the amount of exercise I can do each week, I will return back to my happy self again soon too! ๐Ÿ™Œ. . . . This is not a post to complain or to get sympathy, but I just really wanted to share, as we often do underestimate the psychological benefits of exercise, as were too busy focusing on the physical benefits! โœŒ๏ธ. . . The glandular fever has left me feeling really out of breath & unfit, so stairsprints will help me get back my cardio vascular fitness, plus I actually quite enjoy doing these! โœจThe only time you should ever look back is to see how far youโ€™ve come! โœจ. . . . . . Since Iโ€™ve been posting a lot of throwback pictures of late, I thought Iโ€™d share an actual current situation photo of where I am at, at the moment! ๐Ÿพ. . . . . Having had glandular fever & two bouts of tonsillitis over the past few months, has left me unable to train as much as my body is used to, plus I am not gonna lie Iโ€™ve done a fair bit of comfort eating, having felt a bit sorry for myself recently! ๐Ÿคฆ๐Ÿผโ€โ™€๏ธ. . . . But I am posting this, as I reminder to myself, that even though my current muscle mass & fat percentage, arenโ€™t exactly where Iโ€™d like them to be, I am still looking a hella better than I did, at the beginning of this body transformation journey! ๐Ÿ’ฏ. . . . . Not all progress is linear, and sometimes you need to step back and listen to your body & give it what it needs, which in my case was rest and a few extra calories! (Although admittedly these calories could have come from better food sources than Iโ€™ve-cream!๐Ÿฆ๐Ÿ‘Œ๐Ÿ˜…). . . . . . . . Itโ€™s the 1st of July, we all have exactly six months to achieve the fitness goals we set ourselves in January. Or if you didnโ€™t set yourself some, itโ€™s not too late to set some now! ๐Ÿ‘Š๐Ÿป๐Ÿ˜ˆ. . . . . . Here are my Simple steps to successful goal setting! ๐Ÿ’๐Ÿผโ€โ™€๏ธ . Firstly, Look at the bigger picture, where do you want to be in six months time? How do you want to feel? What do you want your body to look like? Visualise it!. For example, If youโ€™re not in shape now, just imagine rocking your dream body in that Christmas party dress/ New Yearโ€™s Eve dress six months from now! ๐Ÿ‘—๐Ÿพ๐Ÿฅ‚. . . . Then, break your goal down into smaller easily achievable targets, pencil in those workouts in your diary, plan your meals for the next week/ the next 24hrs! ๐Ÿ“. Start small & be specific! . . . And finally, take action! Start working toward your goal RIGHT NOW! Not next week, not tomorrow because itโ€™s a Monday, but right now, the place to start is always the present moment! ๐Ÿ’ฏ. . . . . . Happy Transformation Tuesday! ๐Ÿ’•. . Over two stones lost between these two photos! โš–๏ธ. . . . I think the one of the most valuable bits of advice, when it comes to long term weight loss & making it into a permanent lifestyle change, I can give you, is to find reasons to make the change that will actually keep you motivated! ๐Ÿ’ฏ. . . . What I mean by that, is that โ€˜external reasonsโ€™ like looking good in your clothes, hoping other people will find you attractive etc. Whilst these are both nice by-products of weight loss, they arenโ€™t usually strong enough reasons for you to commit to & sustain a long term lifestyle change!๐Ÿ™…๐Ÿผโ€โ™€๏ธ. . . The reasons WHY you want to make that change must be more valuable than that, like actually committing to weight loss because you LOVE your body & want to look after it, because you want to get healthy so that you can be around your loved ones for longer etc. These are the kind of reasons that will help you push through even when youโ€™re lacking in motivation & help you get back on track, when you fall off the wagon & reach for the biscuit tin ( letโ€™s face it, itโ€™s gonna happen to us all at some point of the journey! โœŒ๏ธ๐Ÿ™„). . . . So what you need to do is find your reasons WHY!๐Ÿ’ž. In my opinion the reasons should come from a place of SELF LOVE, as in choosing to make healthier food choices, because you want to nourish your body & for it to function optimally & for you to feel better, as opposed to โ€˜Imma hit the gym because I hate my fat stomach & I want to punish myself for all the junk I ate over the weekendโ€™ ๐Ÿ™ˆ. . #currentsituation ๐Ÿ’ช๐Ÿป๐Ÿฐ. . . . The glandular fever (combined with a second bout of tonsillitis ๐Ÿค’) has literally knocked me sideways recently, Iโ€™d Iโ€™ve pretty much slept on an average a 12hrs/day of late! ๐Ÿค˜๐Ÿ˜ด. . . . My current recovery seems to be one step forwards, two steps back at the moment.... one day Iโ€™ll manage to get in an almost semi-decent workout, the next day Iโ€™ll wake up feeling like Iโ€™ve repeatedly been ran over by a truck! ๐Ÿš›๐Ÿ’จ โœ‹๐Ÿ˜ฉ. . . . . The Inability to workout, as much as my body is ordinarily used to, means my weight is at an all time low, yet my fat % isnโ€™t! ๐Ÿ˜ญ. . . . . . I am hoping to return to my ordinary routine soon ๐Ÿคž, which means Iโ€™ll hopefully get back to posting on here a bit more regularly too! ๐Ÿ™Œ. . . . . Current plan is to train smart,as opposed to just hard (which is what I ordinarily do! ๐Ÿ˜’) & to regain some of the muscle Iโ€™ve lost! ๐Ÿ’ฏ. My nutrition coach @j.c.nutrition has added some extra carbs to my nutrient plan too, to help with recovery, so if all goes to plan, I should be getting my strength & gains back soon! ๐Ÿ‹๏ธโ€โ™‚๏ธ. . . .
