Stepping on that scale this morning and seeing a number a whole 20 kilos lighter is truly mind boggling and my brain hasn’t quite adjusted to seeing all these amazing physical changes I have made, but I know with time that will happen! My true goal is to be the fittest, healthiest and most amazing version of myself yet! At 18 i was unmotivated, uninspired and eating basically all day, my health both mental and physical was plummeting quickly and I truly never saw the end of that life (year 13 was HARD on me 😂🤦🏻‍♀️) but here I am at 21 ready for anything(swipe right). This photo and this post is everything 🙌🏽❤️ absolutely beautiful @___mama.k #repost @___mama.k ・・・ A few weeks ago I really stepped out of my comfort zone & had the opportunity to do a photoshoot with some very inspiring & empowering women. I had to answer the below question and this was my brief answer because I could have went on and on 😂 • • Why is getting in a photo so important to me? • • For so many years I hated myself, I hated the way I looked, I thought I was too fat, I would criticise the shit out of myself. I would constantly go on diets to try and loose weight so I could be “skinny” I gained a lot of weight since having my son and in my head I always wanted to get back to my pre baby weight. I would always compare myself to others. It was a constant work in progress, a constant battle with myself day in day out. Fast forward to now and over the past year or so I have been on a self love, self development and self care journey. It’s been very hard but so rewarding. I’ve learnt to love myself & all my imperfections. I am proud of my body, of every curve, stretch mark, lump & bump. Being in photos has become so important for me because I want to show the world that no matter what shape, colour or size you are that we are all worthy, we are all beautiful, we are all enough & we deserve to be in that photo and show others that it’s ok, not living by society’s “beauty standards” So I encourage you all to be in that photo, to rock that bikini to the beach, to wear that dress out, to wear those shorts or whatever it may be.
