There seems to be an underground art movement going on in Stockholm. And by underground, I mean underground! Almost all the subway stations are bustling with thematic graffitis, no one graffiti like the other. #Stockholm #Sweden #Subway #Graffiti #SubwayArt #Art #Underground #EuropeDiaries #Europe #Travel2019 at Stockholm, Sweden

Crossing the arctic circle is really a memorable experience. For a guy born and brought up at 30 deg latitude, it's humbling to say the least. By the way, you can cross the arctic circle at three different locations in the Santa Claus Village. Crossing it on traditional wooden skis was pretty badass! ๐Ÿ“ท: @annika.hrtl #ArcticCircle #SantaClausVillage #CrossingArcticCircle #Rovaniemi #Finland #EuropeDiaries #Europe #Travel2019 at Santa Claus Village

Aurora is still elusive! After spending more than 2 hours on top of a frozen lake at freezing temperatures of - 26 deg celsius, the northern lights hunt didn't bear any fruit. All the more reason to go to Scandinavian soon ๐Ÿ˜‰ But all was not lost. Caught this amazing night shot of the woods from my #oneplus which I am secretly proud of. Thanks to my friend @lalin_phonography for the awesome tutorials on how to process your phone pictures. Do check him out. #aurora #NorthernLights #nightphotography #woods #oneplus5 #Rovaniemi #Finland #EuropeDiaries #Europe #Travel2019 at Rovaniemi, Finland

These two pictures pretty much sum up the capital city of Estonia, Tallinn. Fortified walls, cobblestone streets and wintery skies. Baltic states were never defined better. #Tallinn #Estonia #Cannon #EuropeDiaries #Europe #Travel2019 at Tallinn, Estonia

The Freedom Monument, honoring soldiers killed in the Latvian War of Independence. PS: Don't mind the hat. It was an absolute necessity to battle the sub zero temperatures. :D #Riga #Latvia #TheFreedomMonument #EuropeDiaries #Europe #Travel2019 at Riga, Latvia

One of my personal favorites! The Three Brothers of Riga. These three buildings represent the change in architectural trends across three centuries. The house on the extreme right was built in 15th century, middle in 16th and the left one in 17th century. Pretty fascinating, isn't it? #Riga #Latvia #TheThreeBrothers #EuropeDiaries #Europe #Travel2019 at Riga, Latvia

One of the best things to do in Riga, Latvia is just pack a day bag and walk around the old city. The city has to offer the kind of architecture I have never seen before. Here is the House of the Blackheads, a guild for merchants. To think of it, this monument was bombed in the second world war and further completely demolished by the Russians during their occupation. This is definitely a piece of history which would have been lost but is now one of the awe-inspiring pieces of architecture in this part of the world. #Riga #Latvia #HouseOfBlackheads #EuropeDiaries #Europe #Travel2019 at Riga, Latvia

The constitution of the Republic of Uzupis. Do give it a read. And look out for the rights of cats and dogs! #Vilnius #Uzupis #Lithuania #EuropeDiaries #Travel2019 #constitution at Uลพupis

What if I told you, we all can create our own country within a country? Uzupis, a neighborhood in Vilnius, Lithuania has been declared as a republic by its residents since 1997, mostly as a state of artists. They have their own flag, constitution, currency, president, army & navy and celebrate Uzupis day on April 1 every year. By now, you must have realized it is all unofficial but captivating to say the least, as it is a bold attempt to create a state where art is worshipped and artists flourish. The second picture is the constitution wall. And you can get your passport stamped as a memory that you visiting this awesome land! #Vilnius #Uzupis #Lithuania #EuropeDiaries #Travel2019 at Uลพupis

Kedarkantha Peak - 3810 metres 'The Sun is the same in a relative way but you're older' Beginning the summit climb at 3:30 am, none of us knew what a picturesque night trek it was gonna be, thanks to the full moon! With snow flakes hitting in the face and winds giving chills beyond comprehension, we reached the summit just in time for the sunrise. Summit temperature : - 17 deg celsius The dreamy wooden bridge on the way back was a definite plus! #kedarkantha #kedarkanthatrek #nighttrek #sunrise #uttranchal #himalayas #uttarakhand #snow #summit at Kedarkantha Peak

Kedarkantha Base Camp : 3430 metres 3 hours of trekking later, we reached our home for the night. Took about 1.5 hours to clear a patch of snow and pitch our tent but it was well worth it! #kedarkantha #kedarkanthatrek #camping #uttarakhand #uttranchal #himalayas #sunset #snow at Kedarkantha Base

Kedarkantha Trek : Juda ka Talab Leaving Gurgaon with 12 kg backpacks and all the life support needed for this snow trek, we reached Sankri after a tiring journey of ~20 hours. We spent the night in a cozy homestay which was one of the few places with running water (since sub zero temp freezes water pipes quite frequently). The first stretch of the trek began in the late morning, dotted with picturesque valleys with a hint of snow and the frequent 'khachars' messing with the trekkers. As the snow got thicker, we eventually reached the first checkpoint - Juda ka Talaab (literal meaning 'naturally formed lake'). With temperatures slightly below zero at this point, we were actually able to walk on the frozen lake! #kedarkantha #uttrakhand #Uttarkashi #frozenlake #judakatalab #sankri #fisheye #snow at Juda Ka Talab

One fun road trip it was, covering ~1940 kms in 5 days with this lady, experiencing Taj Mahal, Amer Fort, Bhangarh, India Gate, Indo-Pak border and a punjabi wedding to top it off. @annika.hrtl, you have to come back soon for that sandwich I owe you. #WeMetInIceland #GermanGirlInIndia #RoadTripping #AsIfThatIsAWord

Day 3: Kalsubai Peak Towering at 1646 metres, Kalsubai is the highest peak of the Western Ghats. With well laid out tracks, complete with stairs, this trek experiences a lot of footfall during Hindu festivals. Goes without saying that the view was surreal from the summit temple! at Kalsubai Camping On Highest Peak Of Maharashtra
