Triple Threat ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Supermoon, Blood moon, and Total Lunar Eclipse all wrapped up into one. This was my first time shooting an eclipse, and even though the temperatures dropped down to freezing, it was actually quite fun being out there learning on the fly. 🥶 My trooper wife, and dog Buddy were smart and stayed in the truck. 😋 This is created with over three hours of images that I limited down to just a few series, to show the different phases of the eclipse. Taken out at Jekyll Island State Park. Thanks for hanging out with me in the cold @tamiami41 🤙🏽 at Jacksonville, Florida

Just Stop!! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ This is the last memory I have of Joshua Tree while visiting in October of last year. Beautiful trees and vegetation under a beautiful night sky. To say I’m disgusted at what has happened here over the last few weeks during the government shutdown is putting it lightly. It really is a disgrace that people would destroy and trash our National Parks just because no one is there to say anything! Everything from illegally off-roading, cutting down trees, and even spray painting rocks! WTF!!!?? I really don’t get it and what it really comes down to is, a true American with respect and dignity wouldn’t do something like this, only punks and straight up criminals! It has nothing to do with politics and we need to put a stop to this before these natural wonders are gone for good! Please protect and care for our National Parks, clean up after yourselves and pick up trash if you see it. Little things we do, make a huge difference! at Joshua Tree National Park

“Soaking”it all in! 💦😋 ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I posted another photo from this same spot last year with a photographer out on the far left rocks and the water cascading down the rocks to the right, ever so calmly. As the tide got higher here, the waves became much more powerful coming over the rocks. The other photographers actually ran away when this one came but I stood my ground and kept snapping. 😳 Not the smartest thing I ever did! If you look up in the far right corner of the sky you can actually see water spraying up above the horizon. Yes, my gear and I did survive. Thanks again to @bellariana and @sugarbeephoto for meeting up with me and sharing this awesome location! 🙏🏼 If you like beautiful photography, please visit their galleries! 😍Can’t wait to get back to Cali!! Have a great weekend everyone! at Laguna Beach, California

I’m getting pretty stoked to get out and photograph the Milky Way this year. I have to say, last year was a real learning experience in astro photography and I plan on making this year much better. A lot of trials and tribulations and definitely learned a ton. Anyways, here is another one from White Pocket that really shows the beautiful alien like landscape out there. We have so many amazing places here in the US, and I can’t wait to explore more! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ 📷: #nikonusa D850, Nikkor 14-24mm. 25 sec at f/2.8, ISO 8000, 14mm. at Arizona

White Pocket ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Still going through some favorites from last year. This place is a definite must see AGAIN kinda spot!😍⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ 📷: Nikon D850, Nikkor 14-24mm. 25 sec at f/2.8, ISO 8000, 14mm. at Arizona

Hybrid Trails ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Another shot from an awesome night under the stars at Jekyll Island State Park. I actually wanted to get longer trails on this one but but the tide almost took my camera and tripod away😋. I decided to shoot towards Polaris to get the full circle of stars, the only problem was the lighthouse across the bay was casting a really bright yellow light. To combat that some, I decided to go with a hybrid black and white technique in post processing, for a more desaturated look. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ 📷: #nikond850 with Nikkor 14-24mm. 143 shots stacked with Starstax in comet mode. All shots- 25 seconds at f/2.8, ISO 2500, 14mm. Edited in Camera Raw and Photoshop. at Jekyll Island

Jekyll Island State Park ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ This was my first all nighter of the year. Was really itching to get some pics of the night sky so did a road trip to Jekyll Island. Got here at 2am, did some star photography and of course had to wait for sunrise. It was a really clear night and no drama with clouds in the sky, so I decided to do something a little different. Big thanks to @tamiami41 for coming out and joining me! Have an awesome week everyone! 🙏🏼🤙🏽 at Jekyll Island

Cape Hatteras Lighthouse ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Not sure how I missed this one but definitely had to edit and share. Another shot from one my favorite photography trips of 2018. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Swipe ⬅️ to check out the image before any editing. I’m looking at doing a few very small workshops in the Northern Florida/Southern Georgia area on astrophotography this season and want to get a feel for those that may be interested. It will likely be 2-3 days with a half day editing class, sharing some of my favorite techniques to finish it off. Most likely in June and August. More to follow on this but DM me if you’re interested. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ 📷: #nikond850, Nikkor 14-24mm. 25 Seconds at f/2.8, ISO 6400. 8 images stacked for noise reduction. Edited in Camera Raw and Photoshop. at North Carolina

Midnight sun coloring the clouds over the Lofoten Islands in Northern Norway. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ This short but steep hike offers some of the best views you can find near Reine. Actually made it to the top right after midnight for an epic, clear view. Was raining and really overcast when we started but cleared just in time. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Another shot from the 2018 archives that was without a doubt, one of my favorite trips of the year! Can’t wait to go back! ❤️ 🇳🇴 at Lofoten Norway

❤️MOM❤️ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ My favorite photo of 2018 that I never edited and actually just found tonight. 😊2018 was great but also a very heartbreaking year for me and my family, with the loss of my mom. I almost forget that she is gone until I think...I should send her a picture or call her, then it really sinks in! This is my favorite for many reasons but what I really love about it is, that it gives me a sense of peace seeing her walking off into such a beautiful place with the sun peaking through the trees. Like she is letting me know everything is going to be alright and that she is in a much better place. So as the holidays come to an end, make sure to spread some kindness and love to those around you, especially your family. Remember, no one is ever promised tomorrow. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Happy New Year and thank you to all that have supported me through the year, you know who you are! Much love and can’t wait to see what 2019 brings! ❤️🤙🏽 at Pisgah National Forest

Bodie Island Lighthouse ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Another Milky Way shot that I never edited or posted. This was from one of my favorite MW shooting trips of the year! We stayed all night and shot so many different views of this place. Not only was every single night super clear, but I also got to meet two of the coolest people @dafuqisthisnoise and @volgrad90 ~ Instagram has been an amazing platform to share my art but also to connect me with likeminded, down-to-earth people. 2018 has been awesome but I cannot wait for 2019. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ 📷: #nikond850 with Nikkor 14-24 mm. #siruitripod Tripod. 20 Seconds at f/2.8, ISO 6400, 22mm. 8 image stack in SLS. Cayo Costa State Park ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Decided for the last few days of 2018 I would post some of my favorite images I found, that I never posted. Here is one from February during my first Milky Way trip of the year. I was really just playing around with this one and tried zooming while taking a long exposure to get that effect. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ 📷: Nikon D810 with Nikkor 14-24mm. Sky- single exposure 20 seconds at f/2.8, ISO 5000, zoomed from 24mm to 14mm. Foreground- 8 image stack in SLS, 20 seconds at f/2.8, ISO 5000, 14mm. Driftwood Graveyard III ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ This is the same exact shot as two posts ago but on different days. Gray and moody one day, colors exploding out the next. Let me know which one you like better. at Big Talbot Island State Park

Live Oak Graveyard II ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Another one from my favorite photo spot in Jacksonville. You can come here every day and capture something completely different looking. I went back yesterday to try and catch some colors. What an amazing place! Enjoy the weekend everyone! 🙏🏼😊 ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ 📍Big Talbot Island State Park, Jacksonville FL. at Big Talbot Island State Park

Live Oak Graveyard ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ We may not have a diamond beach like Iceland, but man this place is just as mystical, and every one of these trees looks as though it’s still holding on to life. Sun bleached and battered from the surf, you can literally see the long life it’s had by looking into it’s “face”. 😊⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ 📍: Black Rock Beach, Big Talbot Island State Park, Jacksonville, Florida at Jacksonville, Florida

Battle in the Desert ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I didn’t stick around to see who won but my money was on the guy with the stinger! 😋 Took this shot in Borrego Springs, CA back in October. These huge rusted metal sculptures are all over the place in this little desert town and super fun to photograph, especially at night. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ 📷: Nikon D850 with Nikkor 14-24mm. 12 image stack- 25 seconds at f/2.8, ISO 5000, 14mm. Another angle of Cathedral Falls. This waterfall is so stunning and even more so with the red and orange leaves scattered everywhere. It was like looking at a painting. 😊 I’m definitely going to explore WV some more in the future! at Hawks Nest, West Virginia
