As the Cleveland Cavaliers weigh their options regarding Kyrie Irving, it’s clear that there’s no shortage of potential suitors for the disgruntled All-Star point guard.
Adrian Wojnarowski reports that 20 teams have inquired about Irving, and six have made an offer (via ESPN): So far, these are among the teams who’ve made offers to the Cavaliers for Irving, league sources tell ESPN: The San Antonio Spurs, LA Clippers, Phoenix Suns, Minnesota Timberwolves, New York Knicks and Miami Heat. There were approximately 20 teams that inquired with Cleveland upon the news of Irving’s trade request, league sources said, but far fewer have registered legitimate proposals. More loom in the shadows, and many interested simply don’t have the assets to make a deal happen.
According to the report, the Cavaliers would prefer to receive a package similar to what the Denver Nuggets received for Carmelo Anthony when he was traded to the Knicks.
Wojnarowski described these assets as “young players, win-now veterans and draft picks” so teams are expected to have this readily available to satisfy the needs of Cleveland.
I feel that if the Knicks do not include Willy Hernangomez in a trade along with Melo and picks then they don't deserve this trade. You have to give up a young asset in order to gain one, and giving up just melo and picks won't be enough. Frank or Willy must be included in this trade in my opinion, in order for the Cavs to take our offer over the other 5 teams. Our offer obviously has to stand out so we have to give them exactly what they want which was what we did in the Melo deal. Young assets (Willy, Frank, or both), Win-now vets (Melo) and picks (Next 2 years' first round picks). We have to go hard if we really want Kyrie. Now we wait and see. 📷: (@beyondthebuzzer) 🔶🔷

Throughout all this Kyrie Irving drama, Knicks fans are forgetting that Melo has a no trade clause and is still very much committed to being traded to the Rockets... Its looking like Melo would not want to join the Cavs if they did not have Kyrie Irving. Imagine if we pull off a trade but it doesn't go through because Melo decides not waive his NTC... It could very much happen. 🙁🤔
Frank Ntilikina believes he could ‘learn a lot' from Derrick Rose if the Knicks re-signed him. "He's the youngest MVP in NBA history so yeah, I can learn a lot from him," Ntilikina said. Ntilikina was asked if he'd like Rose back on the roster. "It would be good. He did a lot of things in his career. So I'm sure he'd be good," Ntilikina said. "But I'm not controlling what management is doing. And I trust management and the coaching staff to do what's best for the team." Rose is meeting with the Milwaukee Bucks. The Knicks had interest in re-signing him when Phil Jackson was here. The support to re-sign Rose is not as strong at the moment, per league sources. The club, per sources, has considered dealing Rose in a sign-and-trade to gain an asset. (Via ESPN) Ian Begely.

The Knicks are interested in resigning Derrick Rose. (Via ESPN) Adrian Wojnarowski.
Yes!! Please bring back Rose. I garuntee you he can average 20 points per game and 6-7 assists with the triangle gone. Rose is a point guard who belongs in a fast paced offense and run the pick and roll very well. I'd rather Rose who is 28 over George Hill who is 31.
ICYMI: The New York Knicks made a significant course correction Wednesday, parting ways with team president Phil Jackson.
Conversations about what was best for the team's future between Jackson and Dolan accelerated this week when the franchise decided it would not buy out embattled forward Carmelo Anthony, sources said.
Jackson, 71, had made it well known that he felt it was best for Anthony and the organization to part ways, both publicly and privately, but Anthony refused to waive his no-trade clause, and the Knicks were determined not to accommodate any request for a buyout. Anthony has two years worth more than $54 million remaining on his deal.
With no end to the stalemate in sight and free agency beginning Saturday, Jackson's discussions with Dolan accelerated late Tuesday night and the decision was made to part ways. Some close to Dolan had been pushing him to consider firing Jackson for much of the season, sources told ESPN's Ian Begley.
Already looking towards the future, Adrian Wojnarowski is reporting that Dolan has his sights set on Toronto Raptors executive Masai Ujiri as a replacement.
Knicks owner James Dolan is targeting Toronto's Masai Ujiri to replace Phil Jackson as N.Y.'s President, league sources tell @TheVertical. — Adrian Wojnarowski (@WojVerticalNBA)
Knicks fans, this is a move we have all been waiting for for quite a while now. Phil Jackson tore apart this team. Trashing his superstar, nearly trading our future away, signing max deals to washed up players, passing up on Dennis Smith Jr. and Malik Monk, taking more and more money from the Knicks, not doing work, not making any moves, not talking to the media, and just turning this team into a disaster. It's for the best that he's now gone, and even though it's way overdue, we have to accept it now and turn this franchise back around. GM Steve Mills will guide the team through free agency, but as noted above, the Knicks are looking into Raptors President Masai Ujiri for the job, and are rumored to be considering Mark Jackson for either the head coaching spot or the POBO. Jeff Hornecek needs to go along with the triangle, and Mark Jackson has to take over IMO.
Knicks are up 50-49 at the half! 🔶🔷
We're with you, Melo. 😞
This organization is going downhill VERY fast. Ok, if this happens then the Knicks are officially tanking. WTF IS WRONG WITH YOU PHIL JACKSON? RELEASING A STAR PG WHO WANTS TO STAY LONG-TERM? FUCK OUTTA HERE CAN WE PLEASE FIRE THIS MAN ASAP?! #Knicks
The Knicks have waived backup PG Brandon Jennings to sign Chasson Randle, who was recently waived by the Philadelphia 76ers (via. Woj). Brandon Jennings reportedly told the Knicks that he wanted to play for a playoff team, therefore they released him. 🔶🔷 #Knicks
Clutchest player in the league. Knicks get the win over Philly! #StayMe7o
Not one trade was made at the deadline this season... AGAIN. Fuck you Phil Jackson, you are an outstanding coach but you are one of the worst, laziest, boneheaded GM's in the NBA. YOU COULDN'T MAKE ONE TRADE? NOT ONE? COULDN'T EVEN GET A DEFENSIVE PEICE SMH. P.J Tucker just went to the Raptors for 2 second round picks and Jared Sullinger! The Raptors also just got Ibaka just a few weeks ago for NOTHING. Why couldn't you do that? The Raptors have a great GM and they are now contenders for sure. Let's just hope this team can wake the fuck up. Guess we have to play with what we got. Thanks again, Phil. #FirePhil #FuckPhil
Tick tick Phil! You got 10 minutes to make a move. The trade deadline is at 3:00 PM EST today. #Knicks #NYK #NYKnicks #NewYorkKnicks #KnicksNation #KnicksTape #TeamKnicks #GoKnicks #KnicksFamily #KnicksFan #KnicksFanpage #KnicksBasketball #knicksnationonly #Basketball #Ball #NBA #DRose #Melo #KP
Ok guys, so with this new update I have decided to make a slideshow of all the possible moves the Knicks could be making before tomorrow's deadline. If you see a Knicks player in the same collage as a teammate then that means Phil is trying to pair the two together in a trade. If you see a player by himself who is not on the Knicks, that means we are interested in him. If you see a Knicks player alone, it means we are trying to trade him. WHO DO YOU GUYS WANT?! #Knicks #NYK #NYKnicks #NewYorkKnicks #KnicksNation #KnicksTape #TeamKnicks #GoKnicks #KnicksFamily #KnicksFan #KnicksFanpage #KnicksBasketball #knicksnationonly #Basketball #Ball #NBA #DRose #Melo #KP #Trade #TradeDeadline #RickyRubio #ReggieJackson #PatrickBeverley #TrevorBooker #JoakimNoah #StayMe7o
6 years ago today, the Knicks traded for Carmelo Anthony... Throwback to one of the most exciting moments of my life as a Knicks fan. 😭💯 #Melo #StayMe7o
