“You are most powerful when you are most silent. People never expect silence. They expect words, motion, defense, offense, back and forth. They expect to leap into the fray. They are ready, fists up, words hanging leaping from their mouths. Silence? No.” -Alison McGhee at Seattle, Washington
Just watched a @youtube video called “Reality is Gorgeous” from the British philosopher Alan Watts and am seriously so encouraged. Ready, set, Google it now.
It’s been a long week and it’s only Tuesday, so here’s some pretty wallpaper! I dream of when I can have my own house and incorporate funky ass wallpaper without fear of landlords. 💁🏼♀️💃🏼 at Frankie & Jo's
Here’s a picture of me in my car with a much needed cup of coffee to say that life is hard and weird and unexpected right now. But even in the midst of the dark of life, I find hope in the fact that the Lord never stops fighting for us. He says “I’ve chosen you! I am your greatest shield. This isn’t your job; I’ve got this. Give it to me and I’ll fight.” at Caffe Ladro
Working on a goal setting post over the weekend to go out next week and will be really honing in on what helps me accomplish my goals. What do you do to make sure goals are followed even past the new year? 💪🏼 at Capitol Hill
Read this today. Liked it a lot. Whether or not the Gospel is your thing, isn’t it so true that we should just always be light? Too often I fall victim to the darkness because it’s easy and convenient, but this year I’m committing to being light. To speaking up, and reaching out. ———
“We’re going to go public with this, as public as a city on a hill ... I’m putting you on a light stand. Now that I’ve put you there on a hilltop, on a light stand - shine! Keep open house; be generous with your lives. By opening up to others, you’ll prompt people to open up with God.” at Seattle, Washington
2018 started with @mioposto and a bottle of red wine; now for @Barre3. I’m not complaining. 🙌🏼 at West Seattle, Seattle
Gearing up for the new year by refining my monthly budget. Every year I try to get better and better at managing my money and 2018 is the year of saving. 🙊😬 Let’s see how we do! Do you use any apps to help you save or invest? I need new tips and tricks to start the year off strong 💪🏼.
There’s a new post on Lola & Lilacs (whoa!). It’s a city guide for one of my favorite places! Check it out by visiting the link in my bio 🤗. at Stanley Park in Vancouver
This Christmas was unexpectedly different, so here’s a pic of me smothering one of my best friends at the end of her wedding (!!!) night. Reminding me that joy is always around the corner and friends who offer a hand and a hug are mind boggling-ly (is that a word?) precious. at AXIS Pioneer Square

I market for a private high school, so I try to have my hands in a lot of what’s going on throughout the school day. I sat in on a Biotech class today, where students did an ELISA screening to test for the presence of antibodies to a specific antigen. Mind you, I don’t have a science brain whatsoever, so I swiftly headed back to my desk after class to google what was actually happening. After familiarizing myself with antibodies, antigens, and pathogens, my mind was blown. How crazy is it that our bodies are so complex and responsive and proactive and reactive!? Sitting in THAT today! Cheers to googling science and a job that isn’t a bore.
Thursday’s are for friend dinners, and tonight I’m eating (and making) all of the carbs 🍝. #thanksjeff at Leschi, Seattle
