"This is a picture of the Leh Palace in Ladakh. Once occupied by Ladakhi royals, the palace today houses some exhibition spaces and a small prayer room. I wanted to capture the beauty of the structure at night, and it took a number of test shots before getting this one right. Luckily for me, the clouds wafted into my frame at the right moment, adding to the beauty of the picture.", says our reader Amit Vakil Photograph: Amit Vakil . . #lpmi #lpmitravels #postcards #instaclick #shotoftheday #photograph #beautifuldestination #lehpalace #ladakh #prayerroom #india at Leh, Ladakh

"I visited Jaigarh Fort in April of 2015. The fort is situated on Cheel ka Kila (Hill of Eagles), with a spectacular view of its walls and the lake in the foreground, and the magnificent Aravallis in the distance. Jai Singh II built this fort in 1726 to protect the Amber Fort and its palace complex.", says our reader Tathagata Das Photograph: Tathagata Das . . #lpmi #lpmitravels #postcards #instaclick #shotoftheday #photograph #beautifuldestination #jaigarhfort #cheelkakila #aravalis #jaisingh #amberfort #jaipur #rajasthan #india at Jaipur, Rajasthan

"It was a cold winter night in December, and I had only 20 minutes to explore Ghent on my way to Brussels. I was walking about when I noticed these three women walking along a bridge lit up by street lamps. The snow, coupled with the lights, made the scene magical and inspired me to take this photograph.", says our reader Sandip Bose Photograph: Sandip Bose . . #lpmi #lpmitravels #postcards #instaclick #shotoftheday #photograph #beautifuldestination #december #coldwinternights #ghent #brussels #streetlamps #lights at Gent, Belgium

"The Great Himalayan National Park (GHNP) is in a remote corner of Himachal Pradesh. The only signs of humanity you will see are in a few, far-flung village outposts. Each is no more than a small, huddled group of five to 10 mud-and-wood huts. It was in one such village that we spotted this little girl. She sat there, at the edge of the house, dressed in a riot of colours, sporting pink gumboots and gazing at us with a look of trepidation mixed with curiosity.", says our reader Kunal Gupta Photograph: Kunal Gupta . . #lpmi #lpmitravels #postcards #instaclick #shotoftheday #photograph #beautifuldestination #thegreathimalayannationalpark #himachalpradesh #village #huts #village #happyface #pinkgumboots #kullu #himachalpradesh at Kullu, Himachal Pradesh, India
