#FlashbackFriday and today we are throwing it back to when m2m’s Emma France stood side by side with m2m Patron @officialannielennox & Chief Editor of @harpersbazaarus @glendabailey explaining why they are global feminists. What makes you a global feminist? 🌍πŸ’ͺ🏽 For us at m2m it’s ensuring that women have control over their health decisions so they can thrive and not just survive! #onereasonwhyimaglobalfeminist πŸ“· #Regram @officialannielennox

A recent @unicef report reveals that despite progress made in the past decade, young people are being left behind in the fight against #HIV/AIDS. Nearly 9 in 10 of all children & adolescents with HIV live in sub-Saharan #Africa. We must double our efforts to bring this number down. Youth are the future and we want a future free from #HIV. πŸ’ͺπŸ½πŸŒπŸ’•

Today is #UniversalHealthCoverageDay & we want to celebrate the power of community. Health is a human right, no matter your gender, age, race or citizenship and m2m #MentorMothers are working hard to ensure everyone has access to the treatment they need. They leave no one behind. By sharing their own stories of overcoming #HIV, they stand out as champions to other women in urban & rural communities who are facing challenges similar to what they once did. They are making waves, providing a lifeline for marginalised communities. πŸ’ͺ🏽 #HealthForAll #UHCDay @unitednations

What does knowing your status mean to you? This time last week was #WorldAIDSDay and the theme = #KnowYourStatus. We asked m2m #MentorMothers & their clients what this meant to them. For m2m client Tamara from #SouthAfrica, it means knowing how to deal with stigma associated with #HIV. We must end stigma to truly #endAIDS. πŸ’ͺπŸ½πŸŒπŸ’•πŸ™ŒπŸ½ at South Africa

Did we mention m2m features in the latest @british_airways backseat video? We're so lucky to have so many amazing partners and last week we even got to spend time with some of them - the #FlyingStart team at @british_airways! Visiting #MentorMother, Khanyisile, took the limelight as she explained how partnerships like these are so vital to our work - ensuring little ones thrive and not just survive. A big thank you to @comicrelief for making this whole thing possible AND if you haven't seen the video yet...click the link in our bio. πŸ“½πŸ™ŒπŸ½πŸ’• . . . . . #britishairways #instagood #flyinghigh #throwbackthursday

Thank you so much to our friends at @lorealuki for inviting us to speak with them about the power of women’s networks ahead of #WorldAIDSDay last week. #MentorMother Khanyisile Mavimbela, in conversation with mothers2mothers' Emma France discussed how the mothers2mothers network helped her to not only accept her status, but to also use it to support other women and families in her community. Behind every strong woman is a village of women supporting her - like if you agree! βœ¨πŸ’•πŸ’« β€’ β€’ β€’ β€’ #loreal #womenhelpingwomen #ittakesavillage #womensnetwork

Our #WorldAIDSDay celebrations were a truly global effort! 🌍 In Zambezia, Mozambique, 14 #MentorMothers marched in solidarity to raise awareness about #HIV prevention & treatment. With the theme of #WorldAIDSDay being #KnowYourStatus, they also ran a stall giving advice about the importance of testing & treatment, and how partners can help support each other. The Minister of Health visited the stand, speaking to m2m staff; promising to ensure that no child is left behind and expressed her gratitude for the #MentorMother model, which reaches whole families and communities. This weekend was an opportunity for everyone across the globe to come together and stand united in the fight against #HIV/AIDS and we were so excited to be a part this. πŸ’•πŸ™ŒπŸ½πŸŒπŸ’ͺ🏽 . . . . . . . #worldaidsday2018 #weareallwonderwomen #WAD2018 #endAIDS at ZambΓ©zia, Cabo Delgado, Mozambique

We are still on a high from an incredible #WorldAIDSDay. πŸ™ŒπŸ½ We had lots of activities planned in various countries - in the UK, #MentorMother Khanyisile Mavimbela talked to @jonathansamuels at @skynews about why it is so important to #knowyourstatus and how mothers2mothers Mentor Mothers helped her accept hers: β€œThey took me through my journey, although it wasn’t an easy journey, but they helped me understand, they helped me cope, they helped me adhere well to my anti-retrovirals and today I am what I am because of the support they gave me”. Give it up for the amazing 3,000 m2m #MentorMothers who are working tirelessly to create an #HIV-free generation! πŸ‘πŸΌπŸ‘πŸ½πŸ‘πŸΎβœ¨πŸ’• #worldaidsday2018

On #WorldAIDSDay, we were glad to welcome a group of amazing women from around the world to experience our work first hand, and learn about how women are coming together to build a healthy, HIV-free generation. m2m client, Eunice J Nkomo, told the group, β€œMy life changed when I decided to accept my status and live positively”. There are over 3,000 m2m #MentorMothers spreading positivity across communities in sub-Saharan Africa and today on #WorldAIDSDay we are celebrating them!! Thank you to @jnjglobalhealth health for making today such a success πŸ™ŒπŸ½ . . . . . #livehealthylivewell #worldaidsday2018 #knowyourstatus #weareallwonderwomen at South Africa

Next up to tell us what knowing their status means to them is... #MentorMother Thembisa! What does it mean to her? Having two #HIV-negative babies. πŸ’•πŸ™ŒπŸ½πŸ‘πŸ½ Thembisa and other #MentorMothers are working hard to ensure the next generation is happy, healthy and free from HIV. . . . #knowyourstatus #worldaidsday #worldaidsday2018 #wad2018

We are SO excited to share what we have been up to with @comicrelief and @niathelight! Check out our stories to find out more! πŸ™ŒπŸ½ #repost @comicrelief . . . With #WorldAIDSDay approaching, we’re excited to announce that we have partnered with @Niathelight and #MACAidsFund to examine some of the stories and stigma around what it means to have an HIV Positive diagnosis in 2018. - One of the most heavily stigmatised viruses in the world, an HIV Positive diagnosis doesn't need to spell out the end to an individual's quality of life. But often the misinformation and lack of education around the subject can be more damaging than the subject itself. Isn't it about time we debunked some myths and raised some awareness?! - Join Nia on her journey from the UK to South Africa as she meets individuals who are living with the diagnosis and those working to combat the stigma surrounding it. And remember, #ThinkPositive! ✊❀️

How important is it to #knowyourstatus? Very! For #MentorMother Nobhule Nkwenwezi from #SouthAfrica it means hope for a future free from #HIV. πŸ’ͺπŸ½πŸŒπŸ’• . . . . . #worldaidsday2018 #worldaidsday #wad2018 #fridaymood #weareallwonderwomen

This #WorldAIDSDay the theme is knowing your status. At m2m we know how important it is to #KnowYourStatus - it gives you control over your health decisions & wellbeing. So we asked #MentorMothers working in sub-Saharan #Africa what it means to them - first to answer is Akhona Thyalio from #SouthAfrica!
