When I started my spiritual journey back in 2006/2007 - I dove deep into meditation for up to 3-4 hours per day. Additionally, starting a number of businesses from scratch with little experience required me to sit at a computer for 10-14 hours per day. And this went on for nearly 10 years. I went back and forth between the research and teachings of the physical and non-physical along my journey - but it was all "inner-work" ie; the mind, emotions, organs, detox, cleansing, meditation, etc... and often would forget about the "movement-needs" of the physical body itself. While I did yoga from time to time, played racquetball here and there, lifted weights once in a while, played basketball did some running and stayed a little active, I would go for weeks or even months at a time with very little to no exercise or movement or stretching or mobility at all. By the time I turned 30, it really caught up to me - and I really noticed it when I started Crossfit - trying to do natural movements the body is designed for, but getting injured and dealing with all kinds of shoulder issues, back issues, etc... For a while, I subconsciously thought spiritual people should be weak and fragile, since that's so often what we see from gurus who live in caves seeking enlightenment. My realization in the past few years is that it's all about balance. We can have the best of ALL worlds! Physical and non-physical. You can be a spiritual human being who is also strong, fast, and mobile - and enjoy life so much more! Now, I'm incredibly excited to share that after nearly a year and a half dedicated to movement, my body has not only gotten stronger and faster than it's ever been in my life, but my injuries have healed and my range of motion and ability to do awesome human activities has increased.
