Earth isn't the only planet with Auroras. Jupiter and Saturn have auroras too, but all of them are in different colors. The light from the auroras are released when a gase collects energy from the sunlight, and bumps an electron up to the next energy level. The colour of the light is determined by the difference in the energy levels where the electrons jumped, Red being the least and Blue being the most. The electron eventually relaxes, and the energy lost is released as Light. The difference varies from gas to gas, so the colour changes depending on the composition of the upper atmosphere of these planets. ATLANTIS (Orbiter Vehicle Designation: OV‑104) is a Space Shuttle orbiter vehicle belonging to the NASA (National Aeronautics and Space Administration), the spaceflight and space exploration agency of the United States. Atlantis was the 4th shuttle constructed and the last one to fly into space as a commercial crew vehicle. Working on NASA's Mars 2020 mission, uses a solar intensity probe to measure and compare the amount of artifical sunlight that reaches different portions of the Rover. To simulate the Sun's rays for the test, power xenon lamps were illuminated several floors below the chamber and reflected down on the Spacecraft. The data collected during this test will be used to confirm thermal models the team has generated regarding how the Sun's rays will interact with the 2020 Rover while on the surface of Mars. Preparing the Mars 2020 Rover. In this time-lapse video at NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory in Pasadena, California; Me along with My panel of lab-suited engineers and technicians move the 'Mars 2020 Rover' from a high bay in the Spacecraft Simulator Building into the facility's large vaccum chamber for testing in Mars-like environmental conditions. There are technicians, engineers and safety inspectors on every corner for monitoring and assisting every step of the way. Every move is choreographed, briefed and rehearsed. The Orionid Meteor Shower in its natural appearance ✨ This celestial phenomena lights up the skie of the Northerm and Southern Hemispheres. According to NASA, the event is considered to be "one of the most beautiful Meteor Shower of the Year", with the Orionid Meteros famed for their 'brightness' and 'speed'. Indeed the space rocks fly across the sky at the speeds of 41Miles (or 66 Kilometers) per second. At this velocity, they can turn into fireballs and leave trails of debris and that can be seen for seconds and sometimes even minutes after the meteor's transit, says NASA. This featured composite image is taken during the perseids from the Poloniny Dark Sky Park in Slovakia. The unusual building in the foreground is a planetarium on the grounds of Kolonica Observatory. Sunrise at Mount Olympus, Mars 🗻 Olympus Mons, located in the western hemisphere of the Mars, is a massive sheild volcano that is approximately 25Kms (16 Miles) high, making it nearly 3 times as tall as Mount Everest (eventually one of the tallest mountain on Planet Earth). Also, the massive diameter of 624 Kilometres (374 Miles) makes the volcano about the same size as the state of Arizona. 🌋 The extraordinary size of Olympus Mons is likely because Mars lacks 'mobile tectonic plates'. On Earth, we have tectonic plates that essentially slide around on a mechanically weak subsurface known as the 'Asthenosphere'. A combination of sea-floor spreading ridges and plate subduction keeps the plates of Earth consistently moving. As a result, when the mantle-sourced plumes of molten rock (also known as '' Hotspots '') rise into the overlying mobile tectonic plate, the associated Volcanism at the surface migrates over time (like in Hawaii). During the eruption in Olympus Mons, the crust of Mars remained fixed over a stationary Hotspot, and the volcano continously discharged lava until it reached an enormous height. Here is the outside view of the @ISS Cupola. The Cupola is an ESA bulit Observatory module of the International Space Station (ISS). It's name derives from the italian world Cupola, which means 'Dome'. Its seven windows are used to conduct experiments, dockings and observations of Earth. It was launched abroad Space Shuttle mission STS-130 on 8th February, 2010 and attached to the Tranquility (Node 3) module. With the Cupola attached, ISS assembly reached at 85 percent completion.
