We dropped a handful of macrame masons @raasyeg so you can have a little peek at what to expect at our Macrame & Mimosas workshop (registration through linktree ☝) Here's an even better reason to get out and mingle! The Good Shop – a weeklong pop-up at RAAS YEG that spotlights local brands with positive social impact: @heartprintthreads, @msichana.inc , @duvalcanada, @mrnicesocks1 , @tinyzenjewelry , and @unbelts. Join them to kick-off the party September 17th to discover inspiring socially driven brands, enjoy delicious sips and eats, live music, selfie opps (obvi!), giveaways and take part in the conversation around brands with purpose along with our friends from Roundhouse! Donations will be accepted on site in support of Boyle Street Community Services HireGood program, which connects those who face employment barriers with work opportunities. RSVP to both events click on Get Tickets @raasyeg at RAAS

If someone would have told younger me that I would be standing in front of a group of people teaching classes I would have said no way, not a chance! Macrame has not only given me a way to stay grounded, getting lost in the rhythm of tying knots, but has also given me confidence. I am by nature a fairly quiet person and certainly was never one to excel at speeches or public speaking in grade school. I am so passionate about this craft though! I love spending time sharing the process of making with my hands, especially in our fast paced (mostly online) lives. It's a wonderful way to slow down and reconnect with this part of ourselves. . See stories or a few posts back for upcoming workshops. . Picture is a little unrelated as these are woven frames that I created 2 years ago but it's fun to travel through the Instagram time capsule to previous work sometimes.

One of the leaves from our palm completely died, there's no coming back. I couldn't bring myself to get rid of it just yet though. I have a love for dried florals and greens. They become so delicate and brittle 😍 This won't be permanent but it may reside here for a few more days! . . . #meetyourmakercollective #yegbossbabes at Edmonton, Alberta

It's perfect September weather and we're all stuck indoors with a rotten cold. I did manage to hammer out a few plant hangers and finish up some jewelry orders though! Thanks for those! at Edmonton, Alberta

I only knew 2 things for certain when I started this piece. 1) I wanted a lot of negative space and 2) I want to incorporate lines and patterns from other loved items in our living space (pillows, rugs, pottery etc.) I am so happy with the way it turned out. All 5 feet of it! Swipe if you would like to see more detail. at Edmonton, Alberta

What now? Sometimes I have a clear idea of what I want a finished piece to look like. This time, not so much! I've done about 15 sketches, now to choose one or scrap them all and see what happens next.
