These messages mean so much - it’s nice to share them .......to encourage people to get along to class - sometimes people feel intimidated by going to a yoga class - There is no need - everyone is welcome , in my classes there are 70 year olds , 17 year olds , every age and ability inbetween, about 50/50 men/women - it’s such a special community. - I often sit at the end of class , once everyone arises from their relaxation and my heart feels expansive , I sit there thinking can they feel this too...? Rumi summing up my fasting journey perfectly 💖 - -I’ve been intermittent fasting for a couple of years now , I’m not rigid or dogmatic , enforcing strict rules on myself doesn’t work for me - I prefer gentle discipline - I normally fast around 5 days per week anything from 14-18 hours - you’ll see lots of different suggestions of how long to fast for - my meditation teacher who is also an award winning scientist says 16 hours is the ideal. - My primary intention behind fasting is to keep my cells super healthy - for cellular repair - Intermittent Fasting Changes The Function of Cells, Genes and Hormones - When we fast, the cells in the body initiate a cellular "waste removal" process called autophagy - Everyone has different Intentions for health hacks - and fasting does not work and is not suitable for everyone - science aside you need to listen to the wisdom of your body. - On Saturdays I fast and I do a spin class and a CrossFit class back to back - I’m perfectly strong enough to get through it - there is plenty of fuel in my system - I’m always interested in working with my mind - I used to never leave the house without an emergency snack in my bag, I used to get shaky hands from low sugar - I would get intense brain fog from hunger - this doesn’t happen anymore - I think it’s no bad things to break down mental attachments to things and food is one of mine , it’s an ongoing process for me but fasting is helping my mind so much. - Fasting is a spiritual practice the ancient yogis taught since day dot, modern science is catching up now - you just have to try it see if it works for you☯️ Anyone benefiting from long term intermittent fasting ....? ☯️ #fast #fasting #intermittentfastingresults #intermittentfasting #diet #mind #body #soul #science #spiritual #food #rumi

Yin yoga is probably the least instagramable style Of yoga - A sphinx pose is never going to be as attention grabbing or visually seductive as a sirsasana pose🤷🏼‍♀️ - Yin is not sexy or snazzy - it’s simple and humble , but don’t underestimate the power of a simple practice - it certainly isn’t easy, staying in a pose for minutes upon minutes with all kinds Of discomfort and unease coming up in the mind and body is advanced, it takes a certain level of awareness and mindfulness to be able to seek out the bliss within the challenge, you might only do 5 postures in an hour class, sounds easy right .... think again - Yin might look boring , but it’s not 💜when practiced skilfully it’s such a transformative rewarding practice for your body, mind, soul and heart - It needs to be Tasted To be understood , then it’s embodied, once embodied you’ll fall in love with it - YIN YOGA I LOVE YOU This world needs more yin ☯️ #yinteacher #yinstudent #yinlove #yin #yinyoga #functionaltraining #fascia #heart #yinisin

The yin master ☯️ #educate PM: So, how exactly is the fascia related to the meridians or nadis? PG: There hasn’t been much research done on this previously because fascia was just seen as a connective tissue, an inert substance that just holds organs together. When you do surgery or dissection, it’s mostly fascia that you’re cutting away so you can see the organs or the blood vessels that you’re interested in. Now, with the age of electronics and more sophisticated electrical devices, we have come to understand that the fascia is doing much more than gluing things in place. It’s actually electrically conductive. One of the very probable extrapolations of fascia is that it is the conductive network that the Chinese and the Indians describe in the ancient text, that the meridians are inside the fascia. I love my little YOFFICE - a tiny little room that’s my yoga room, meditation Space and my office It’s quiet, calm and my scared space - most mornings I meditate here, it’s normally peaceful when Sox leaves me alone 🐈 - Some days (like this morning) I’ll meditate downstairs when the washing mashing in on - it’s like CrossFit for my mind - I Like to challenge myself with noise and distractions sometimes to see if I can remain calm and tranquil - does anyone else do this or am I weird 🤪 - When you first start meditating you may be advised to practice in the same place at the same time - this is good to start with, it will certainly help when creating a routine for yourself - however a few years down the line I actually think it’s good not to get attached to your space or time - attachments create suffering remember , as the buddha taught - mix it up challenge yourself 🏋🏼‍♂️🧠 can you find tranquility without the “perfect” conditions #meditation
