Real talk...There’s no such thing as the PERFECT TIME 🙅🏻‍♀️ when it comes to building new habits, asking for help, starting a self-care routine, seeing a psychologist... ⁠⠀ ⁠⠀ ..but you will know deep down when you truly need something and it’s up to you to listen and honour those needs. ⁠⠀ ⁠⠀ For me, it was seeing a psychologist the same year that we started our business even though I didn’t want to and my ego definitely didn’t want to. I wanted to work on this new exciting business, not on the emotional baggage I was carrying...⁠⠀ ⁠⠀ ...but I wouldn’t have been honouring my needs and I wouldn’t have been looking after myself if I didn’t commit to those weekly sessions. ⁠⠀ ⁠⠀ It was hard and I’d come home feeling emotionally exhausted, but it was important. It was the "self-care" that I knew I needed. ⁠⠀ ⁠⠀ 👉🏼The next time you catch yourself saying, "it's not the right time" remember that looking after yourself is your primary responsibility. I was so blown away by this random act of kindness I experienced last month...🤗🤗🤗⁠⠀ ⁠⠀ I was trying to pay for parking and the card reader wasn't working. Long story short, the woman behind me dropped $6 in my hand and smiled. ⁠🙌⁠⠀ ⁠⠀ That same afternoon as I drove back home, still smiling ear to ear that this kind woman had paid for my parking, I made a wrong turn and found myself a little lost. I'd only recently moved to Geelong so I wasn't overly familiar with the streets. 🙈⁠⠀ ⁠⠀ My phone had died, so I couldn't turn maps on. Instead of getting frustrated, I just accepted it and thought wouldn't it be awesome if I could get back home without maps? HEY! 👋 For those who are new here, we’re Tom and Alex—the couple behind Saint Belford!⁠⠀⁠⠀ ⁠⠀⁠⠀ We’re just two twenty-eight year olds living in Geelong, making 2020 planners for a living and helping you keep self-care on top of your to-do list.⁠⠀ ⁠⠀ Why?⁠⠀ ⁠⠀⁠⠀ Because back in 2017, I couldn’t find a planner that was MORE than just a to-do list.
