Saltwater taffy is one of our favorite treats. Did you know that saltwater taffy was made famous by Mr. Bradley, a candy store owner from Atlantic City, New Jersey?
The story goes that Bradley's store flooded during a major storm in 1883. When his store flooded all his taffy was soaked with water from the Atlantic, so he jokingly began to refer to the soaked taffy as saltwater taffy!
