Almost everyone posts christmas pictures...Could withdraw me so far, especially since I don't feel christmas at all...But on the weekend the event "Uferlichter" (shore lights) packed me in Bad Neuenahr. No loudly blare out those tastelessly Christmas songs, not the usual Bratwurst stalls but culinary high-quality food from top chefs and first-class red wines. In addition, light installations along the Ahr and the streets and squares. But not overloaded but discreet. Here is an example from the Kurgartenstraße with the huge Christmas tree of the Steigenberger spa hotel and a rather small but even more beautiful light ball made of wickerwork. ⠀ _________________________________________________________________ #srs_germany #meindeutschland #deutschland_greatshots #alluring_deutschland #deutschlandkarte #raw_germany #ig_deutschland #topgermanyphoto #sharegermany #visitgermany #IN_GERMANY #europstyle_germany #phoenix_germany #batpixs_germany #deutschlandmylove #super_germany_channel #travel_2_germany #lifeofgermany #kings_villages #placestotravel_s, #travel_drops #wonderful_places #german_landscape #villages #RLPerleben #visitrlp #alluring_villages#CBViews #german.views #germanysworld at Bad Neuenahr, Rheinland-Pfalz, Germany

The Church of St. Clement overlooks the vibrant Piazza dei Signori in Padua, Italy. It is currently a dependent of the Cathedral Basilica of Santa Maria Assunta. The earliest mention is a document from 1190, when it was elevated to a parish. In 1386, the church commemorated the victory at the Battle of Castagnaro of forces including men under Francesco Novello da Carrara over armies of Antonio della Scala. With its proximity to the nearby market places, they were able to promote the commissioning of private altars and restoration work. The building was substantially altered in the sixteenth century, during the work of reorganization of the square outside, and later in the 1600 and 1700. Titian Minium, a famous Paduan sculptor, is buried in the church. The exterior of the building, is surrounded by home and commercial buildings. Only the front façade. facing the piazza, is visible. It is in three parts, divided by pilasters topped by Corinthian capitals. The columns support a pediment topped by statues of St. Clement, St. Giustina and St. Daniel. The tympanum of the portal is surmounted by a large rose window surrounded by terracotta decoration from the 7th and 8th centuries. A round high relief from the fourteenth century, depicts St Clement. In two niches are the statues of St. John the Baptist, and Sant'Alò, dated 1696. A neo-baroque belfry rises, next to the church. A dome covering the bell tower was demolished in the second half of the nineteenth century. Please bring me back the summer of Venice! This shot was a very lucky one. While riding a gondola in a unknown part of Venice this amazing lights appear only for some seconds. As soon as the temperatures are below 0 degrees Celsius I long even more for the summer in Venice...The Hotel Santa Chiara overlooks the Grand Canal and is located next to the ferry terminal and the airport bus stop on Piazzale Roma, just 200 metres from the Venezia Santa Lucia train station and very close to the Giardini Papadopoli Park. The building where the Hotels is built is part of the history of Venice since over 500 years. Built in the '500, it was originally the Monastery of the nuns of St. Clare, that’s where The foundation on the grand canal and the hotel itself took their name. Piazzale Roma was initially a place of cult, whose landscape was dominated by the presence of several vegetable gardens. Over the years, the function of this area changed radically: during the seventeenth and eighteenth century the area became mostly residential and part of the gardens and buildings disappeared to make room to “ Giardini Papadopoli” (Papadopoli Gardens) next door to the Hotel. The demolition of the monastery complex left untouched only the building of the Hotel Santa Chiara, it marks the beginning of a series of public works, Santa Lucia Train station, the bridge to the Mainland, the excavation of the “ Rio Novo” which change the appearance of Piazzale Roma and make it one of the most important and lively areas of the city. ⠀⠀⠀ ⠀ ⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀ _____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ #kings_villages #placestotravel_s, #travel_drops #igworldclub_cityscape #volgoveneto #igersveneto #veneto_in #yallersveneto #CBViews #LOVES_UNITED_VENEZIA #wonderful_places #houses_phototrip #bestvenetopics #traveleurope #total_travels #aroundtheworldpix #shotz_of_veneto #houses_ofthe_world #total_houses #be_one_houses #addicted_to_facades #TopVenicePhoto #fever_streets #yallersveneto #CBViews #allstreetshots #igersvenezia #houses_phototrip #igvenezia #volgovenezia ⠀ at Venice, Italy

The first section of the Lahn valley railway from Oberlahnstein to Bad Ems was opened on 1 July 1858. The 7.91 km long connection to the Lahn valley railway from the spa town of Bad Nassau to Bad Ems took place on 9 July 1860. As the Nassau Lahn bridge had not yet been completed, Bad Nassau initially had a makeshift station, which was completely expanded after the railway bridge was opened. Next to the reception building was a goods shed. During the Second World War, Nassau was attacked with incendiary and phosphorus bombs in March 1945, and eighty percent of the city was destroyed. The healing spring dried up after the bombardment. After the war, the railway bridge was only rebuilt on one track. Since the healing spring no longer existed, the village had to do without the additional bath and from then on was only called Nassau (Lahn). _________________________________________________________________ #srs_germany #meindeutschland #deutschland_greatshots #alluring_deutschland #deutschlandkarte #raw_germany #ig_deutschland #topgermanyphoto #sharegermany #visitgermany #IN_GERMANY #europstyle_germany #phoenix_germany #batpixs_germany #deutschlandmylove #super_germany_channel #travel_2_germany #lifeofgermany #kings_villages #placestotravel_s, #travel_drops #wonderful_places #german_landscape #villages #RLPerleben #visitrlp #alluring_villages#CBViews #german.views #germanysworld at Nassau, Germany

Canal Grande in Venice, Italy. On rhe right side In the shadow of the Basilica of Santa Maria della Salute: The Palazzo Genovese is an Gothic Revival-style palace located a few meters west of the Church of the Salute along the Grand Canal, the posterior facade abuts the church of San Gregorio in the Sestieri of Dorsoduro, Venice, Italy. The palace was commissioned in 1892 as a residence by the Genovese family and designed by the architect Edoardo Trigomi Mattei in a style faithful to the Venetian Gothic. The palace has been converted into a luxury hotel. Archeologic work found evidence of 7th and 9th century buildings. ⠀ On the left side: The Abbazia di San Gregorio is a former church in Venice, northern Italy, located in the sestiere (district/neighborhood; literally "sixth") of Dorsoduro. It is not far from Santa Maria della Salute basilica, behind the Palazzo Genovese. It was founded in the 9th century and, in the 13th century, it became a Benedictine abbey. In the mid-15th century it was rebuilt to the current appearance under design by Antonio da Cremona. In 1775, after a long period of crisis, the monastery was closed and in 1807, after the Napoleonic occupation of Italy, also the parish church was suppressed. Deconsecrated, it was converted in a mint laboratory and then an art restoration center. It is now closed and not used. It has a Gothic exterior with an ogival portal, elongated mullioned windows with ogival top, and apse. ⠀⠀⠀ ⠀ ⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀ _____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ #kings_villages #placestotravel_s, #travel_drops #igworldclub_cityscape #volgoveneto #igersveneto #veneto_in #yallersveneto #CBViews #LOVES_UNITED_VENEZIA #wonderful_places #houses_phototrip #bestvenetopics #traveleurope #total_travels #aroundtheworldpix #shotz_of_veneto #houses_ofthe_world #total_houses #be_one_houses #addicted_to_facades #TopVenicePhoto #fever_streets #yallersveneto #CBViews #allstreetshots #igersvenezia #houses_phototrip #igvenezia #volgovenezia at Venice, Italy

View from the vineyard Bachemer Karlskopf to the vineyard Bachemer Steinkaul (middle of the picture) and behind it the medieval town Ahrweiler with its various vineyards. Already the Romans, who reached the area of the Ahr valley before Christ's birth, are said to have cultivated wine there, but this is not proven. The written history of viticulture in the Ahr valley can be traced back to the second half of the 9th century. In 893 the Prümer Urbar named larger vineyards in eight Ahr settlements. In this list the Prüm Abbey listed a number of estates subject to wine tax, including Ahrweiler, Walporzheim, Dernau and Altenahr. In addition to Prüm Abbey, eleven other monasteries and twelve aristocratic farms had 80% of the vineyard area in the municipality of Ahrweiler around the year 1200. In Dernau, 19 landlords, ten monasteries and nine secular lords owned about 80% of the vineyards. _________________________________________________________________ #srs_germany #meindeutschland #deutschland_greatshots #alluring_deutschland #deutschlandkarte #raw_germany #ig_deutschland #topgermanyphoto #sharegermany #visitgermany #IN_GERMANY #europstyle_germany #phoenix_germany #batpixs_germany #deutschlandmylove #super_germany_channel #travel_2_germany #lifeofgermany #kings_villages #placestotravel_s, #travel_drops #wonderful_places #german_landscape #villages #RLPerleben #visitrlp #alluring_villages#CBViews #german.views #germanysworld ⠀ at Bad Neuenahr-Ahrweiler

The historic inn on the Lahn seen from the opposite side of the river. It is said to be the scene of the legendary (mostly rough) innkeeper's verses. Well protected by the historic city wall of Dausenau, which is still largely intact today, it offered sailors and carters a safe stop for the night. Evidence of troop catering from the Thirty Years' War bears witness to the more than 350-year-old history of this house.⠀ ⠀ Goethe also passed this inn more than half a dozen times during his travels between 1774 and 1815, and the following is said to have happened here: Johann Wolfgang von Goethe sat at the table and drank Schorle (a drink made from wine mixed with mineral water), which is why he was ridiculed by the wine drinkers sitting at the neighbouring table. Goethe then scribbled the following verse on the tabletop, which could still be read under a glass top until 1935:⠀ ⠀ Water alone makes you mute,⠀ the fish in the brook show that.⠀ Wine alone makes stupid,⠀ see the gentlemen at the table.⠀ Since I do not want to be either of them,⠀ I drink water with wine. View from the Oberjoch-Pass road to the autumnal Bad Hindelang. The village in the Allgäu has been a climatic health resort and Kneipp spa since 2001. It is located in the Ostrachtal valley on the historic salt road, which today leads as Bundesstraße 308 via Oberjoch to Austria. With 107 curves, the Oberjoch Pass is the most winding road in Germany.⠀ More than 80% of the municipal area is a landscape or even nature reserve. What is certain is that in 1540 the Counts of Montfort had the mule track over the Joch developed into a road. For centuries, salt was transported on this route from Tyrol to Lake Constance. As early as 1429, the Augsburg bishop granted the town market rights. In 1529 the Fuggers founded a mare farm in the valley. According to the knights of Heimenhofen and the counts of Montfort, the prince-bishops of Augsburg were the owners of the area. Iron ore was mined in the rear Ostrachtal in the 16th century and hammer mills were built in which thousands of halberds and spears were produced for the armies of Emperor Maximilian and others. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ _________________________________________________________________- #welovebavaria #visitbavaria #auszeitinbayern #srs_germany #meindeutschland #deutschland_greatshots #alluring_deutschland #deutschlandkarte #raw_germany #ig_deutschland #topgermanyphoto #sharegermany #visitgermany #IN_GERMANY #europstyle_germany #phoenix_germany #batpixs_germany #super_germany_channel #travel_2_germany #lifeofgermany #travel_drops #germanytourism, #grmnyvacations, #wonderful_places #placestotravel_s, #deutschlandmylove #german_landscape #Splendid_Mountains #amazing_shots #bns_mountains at Bad Hindelang / Oberjoch

In autumnal frame: One of the most beautiful mountains of the Allgäu, the Schneck (snail)! The 2,268 metre high grassmountain lies at the end of the Oberstdorf Oytal and, like the Höfats, is unique due to its shape and abundance of flowers.⠀ ⠀ The grassy pre-summit of the Himmeleck is located in front of the actual summit, which is also easily accessible for hikers from the path over the Himmelecksattel. The transition to the main summit takes place very exposed over a rocky edge (difficulty: I). According to tradition, the hunter Thaddäus Blatter carried the summit cross upright over the rocky edge in the 19th century!⠀ ⠀ For a long time, the partly overhanging east wall was regarded as the most difficult climbing tour in the Allgäu Alps. The grass ridge, known as the Rädlergrat, which runs southwest falls steeply down into the Oytal after the Himmelhorn and is also an extremely difficult, infamous grass climb. He is probably one of the most impressive mountain figures of the Allgäu Alps and alpine history has been written in his steep eastern wall: The snail is in a class of its own, even if it is not one of the highest peaks in the Allgäu. ⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ _________________________________________________________________- #welovebavaria #visitbavaria #auszeitinbayern #srs_germany #meindeutschland #deutschland_greatshots #alluring_deutschland #deutschlandkarte #raw_germany #ig_deutschland #topgermanyphoto #sharegermany #visitgermany #IN_GERMANY #europstyle_germany #phoenix_germany #batpixs_germany #super_germany_channel #travel_2_germany #lifeofgermany #travel_drops #germanytourism, #grmnyvacations, #wonderful_places #placestotravel_s, #deutschlandmylove #german_landscape #Splendid_Mountains #amazing_shots #bns_mountains at Oberstdorf, Germany

Restaurant Zur Traube in Vallendar near Koblenz. This beautiful house was built in 1647, when the 'German Need', the Thirty Years War, gradually ended. Before its last renovation in 1992 by the present owner, the year 1698 was still considered the actual year of construction - but during excavation work an inscription with the exact date was discovered: Anno domini 1647 April 7th. The owner had been a witness master in the Thirty Years' War and was now able to prepare himself with his 'husfrau' for a well-designed time of peace. War and peace are also connected with another historical example of TRAUBE. As an inn (first documented in 1810) it was chosen by royal Prussian order in 1840 to serve as the burial club for the veterans of the War of Liberty. Many years earlier, on New Year's Eve 1813/14, Blücher had pushed the French back across the Rhine only 40 kilometres from here and liberated the country. The Pontifical Basilica of Saint Anthony of Padua (Italian: Basilica Pontificia di Sant'Antonio di Padova) is a Roman Catholic church and minor basilica in Padua, Veneto, Northern Italy, dedicated to St. Anthony. Although the Basilica is visited as a place of pilgrimage by people from all over the world, it is not the titular cathedral of the city, a title belonging to the Cathedral-Basilica of St. Mary of Padua. The basilica is known locally as "il Santo". It is one of the eight international shrines recognized by the Holy See. Construction of the Basilica probably began around 1232, just one year after the death of St. Anthony. It was completed in 1310 although several structural modifications (including the falling of the ambulatory and the construction of a new choir screen) took place between the end of the 14th and the mid-15th century. The Saint, according to his will, had been buried in the small church of Santa Maria Mater Domini, probably dating from the late 12th century and near which a convent was founded by him in 1229. This church was incorporated into the present basilica as the Cappella della Madonna Mora (Chapel of the Dark Madonna). In front of it like the church directly at the river Eltz some of the famous half-timbered houses of the former rich cloth maker town. ⠀ ⠀ The oldest preserved traces of settlement in Monreal date back to pre-Christian times. It was first mentioned in documents in 1193 as "Cunisberch" (Königsberg). At the beginning of the 13th century, the Counts of Virneburg extended their sphere of influence to the small settlement. According to the fashion of the time they used from now on the French name "Monroial" (= Königsberg). Summer day at Lake Constance (@bodensee.de) with view from the lake to the Catholic parish church St. Georg on the peninsula Wasserburg. The first church on the island of Wasserburg, mentioned in 784, was probably built of wood. The present-day choir (sanctuary) emerged from a Gothic predecessor building (around 1400), which probably also included the substructure of the originally pointed church tower. In the 17th century the tower of the Sankt-Georgs-Kirche received a French hood in the style of the Augsburg architect Elias Holl. The interior is decorated with a baroque high altar with life-size figures of Saints Gallus and Otmar. An epitaph of Fugger Count Leopold can be found above the sacristy door. On three of the four main pillars, stone tablets recall the Seegfrörnen of the years 1573, 1830 and 1963. During the Seegfrörnen of Lake Constance, the lake is covered with a layer of ice that even carries people. Remarkable are the ceiling frescos (1918/19) by Otto Hämmerle (* 1881 to 1944) with motifs from the history of Wasserburg and the richly decorated organ. Wasserburg is situated on the northern shore of Lake Constance, five kilometres west of the Bavarian district town of Lindau. The state-approved climatic health resort is one of a total of three Bavarian communities on the shores of Lake Constance. ⠀ ⠀ Source: wikipedia.de ⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ _________________________________________________________________ #welovebavaria #visitbavaria #auszeitinbayern #srs_germany #meindeutschland #deutschland_greatshots #alluring_deutschland #deutschlandkarte #raw_germany #ig_deutschland #topgermanyphoto #sharegermany #visitgermany #IN_GERMANY #europstyle_germany #phoenix_germany #batpixs_germany #CBViews #super_germany_channel #travel_2_germany #lifeofgermany #kings_villages #travel_drops #germanytourism, #grmnyvacations, #wonderful_places #placestotravel_s, #bodenseepage #german_landscape #alluring_villages ⠀ at Wasserburg am Bodensee
