Kasin got to have a night out Tuesday evening to eat his favorite okra, beans, and biscuits before becoming a big brother yesterday. He hasn’t yet met little bro because he’s in the nicu right now. His oxygen levels were a little low upon arrival. He is doing well though and his numbers are getting better and better every couple of hours. Kasin has come to visit us both days at the hospital so far and is the star of the show each time. We know he is going to be a great big brother and love his new baby. Every kid he sees now is a “babyeee” and he is learning to say little bro’s name. He is currently calling him “Ro.” 😊❤️ New baby pictures coming soon! #twoundertwo #boymom #raisingboys #momlife #mamasboy #lovemyboys #crackerbarrel #nicumom #bigbrother #littlebrother #kasin #roman #buckleybros
My guys. I love the way Kasin looks at his Daddy. 🥰
One of our Christmas family traditions is each getting one new ornament every year from my parents on Christmas Eve. Each having something to do with something that happened throughout the year. Opening those ornaments to hang on the tree every year brings back all sorts of memories from sports to Spanish class, to musical instruments learned, things we loved as children, etc. One year I even got a Grinch ornament because I really struggled with finding the Christmas spirit. 🤷🏻♀️ However this year, I came across an ornament that really stuck out to me. Now, no, it’s part of our tradition but I couldn’t resist purchasing these 2 hand painted ornaments of Jesus laying in the manger. The story of Jesus entering the world has always fascinated me because we tend to love making things big and beautiful. We have baby announcements, gender reveals, promposals, all the big fun to-dos, and his entry wasn’t any of those things, it was simple, quiet, and he came in the night to a woman who was unmarried at the time she conceived, in a town that wasn’t her own, away from her own family, in a stable, and I’m sure she could have had many complaints about the situation but what we know is that she simply said, “...let it be.” Mary’s story is one of inconvenience, judgment, hard times, and yet such hope! It was what I would consider a trial turned triumphant. We have been so so very blessed but we’ve had a few trials this year ourselves. As I know so many have, many way worse than ours! So this year this ornament reminded me of hope, gratefulness, and an ever so faithful Heavenly Father! It’s definitely one of my favorite ornaments this year and a great reminder of what Christmas is all about! Thanks @kansas_mccoy for these. They are awesome!
Love the character of a real tree & the look on Kasin’s face knowing he’s not supposed to be pulling ornaments off the tree but checking to see if his Daddy is looking. Still trying to decide on ribbon or fillers or leaving it as is. This tree is by far the thickest tree we’ve ever had so I’m undecided. We tried out a new tree farm this year in NC and fell in love with the views and trees there. We love a good Fraser Fir! I'm sure we’ll have some fun stories to tell over the next few weeks with Kasin & the tree.
Do you have a good/funny Christmas tree stories?!
Let me share a smile with you today! My energy levels the last few days have fallen off. I think all the hustle and bustle of this time of year is catching up with this pregnant lady. So last night, Kasin and I spent the night at my parents after Christmas tree day. Kasin loved helping his Papa put the lights on the tree! The excitement on his little face as he sees and experiences all the fun Christmas stuff a little differently this year makes my heart so happy! Being able to experience the joy that comes with littles is a blessing in itself. While I have moments of pure exhaustion at almost 36 weeks pregnant, it’s moments like these that keep me going. Check out the excitement! 😍😊❤️
Christmas Tree Day #2 for our Kasin man! He was loving every minute. This is Jacob & my 5th tree day together! Last year Kasin was just 2 months. This year, we are waiting on #2. Christmas as married couple just keeps getting more exciting. 😊❤️🎄
My favorite holiday treats this time of year are hot chocolate and those yummy chocolate covered peanut butter Ritz. What I’ve recently discovered though with my Hot Chocolate, I can mix it with my nutrition shake and it tastes EVEN better! ❤️ Christmas is my favorite time of the year, I honestly celebrate until January and then start again in July. Its just always brought so much joy to my heart.
I want to hear what your favorite treat is this time of year!
Y’all, in my challenge group I’m running all day yesterday I thought it was Wednesday! 🙈 Our “Wednesday” challenge was on hydration, except it was actually Tuesday, obviously. 🙄😂 I truly pushed myself to make sure I REALLY properly hydrated all day yesterday and drank a little over half my body weight in fluid ounces. As if pregnancy doesn’t make you have to pee enough, being properly hydrated & really pregnant means I’m definitely getting my steps in today! 😂 #hydrate #hydrationiskey #pregnantlady #mama #boymom #wellhydrated #waterwaistedwednesday #waterwastedwednesday #35weekspregnant #35weeks #raisingboys #fitmamas #workoutandhydrate #kasinslittlechristmastree
I don’t know if you can ever truly know a mother’s love until you become a mother. My world changed when Kasin entered. My motives began to look different. My love felt a new depth. I became a little more protective. I smiled a lot more. I gave more selflessly.
It also meant my time to get ready was cut in half. My “me time” shrunk and sometimes doesn’t exist. My sleeping all night long with no interruptions became extinct. Going to the bathroom in peace went out the window. I re-learned sharing... everything, from food and drinks to snotty nose kisses.
And honestly, at the end of the day, I wouldn’t trade any of it for the world! This little guy has brought more joy, love, and happiness into my life than I ever could have imagined possible. For a year and almost 2 months now he has taught me so much and continues to steal my heart daily! Crazy to think at some point in the next 4 weeks he will be a big brother!! Oh how I love my little Kasin. 😊❤️
35 Weeks Prego 🤰🏻
Still no Christmas tree up but all the other Christmas decorations are!🎄
Not having much luck with Cyber Monday this year. 🤷🏻♀️
Finished workout 66 of 80 today. 💪🏼
Started the 21 Days to Fitmas with my girls today! 🎅🏼 Had 2 cups of coffee today, no surprise there! ☕️ Now to rest a few, Hallmark channel where you at?! 📺
“It wont be like this for long
One day soon we'll look back laughin' at the week we brought him home. This phase is gonna fly by, so baby just hold on.
It wont be like this for long.” This Black Friday I’m spending time decorating for Christmas & loving on my little man because here in a few weeks things will look a little different when the next one arrives. 😊❤️ Love my boys so much! Also spending time on the couch getting all the snuggles from my Kasin while Braxton Hicks are in full swing today!
One of my favorite Thanksgiving traditions. Hot chocolate & Macy’s Parade at my parents. A little more fun this year with Kasin loving all the Christmas lights & decorations. 😊❤️
Baby Dedication Day this morning for our Kasin. ❤️ #family #babydedication #love #blessed #sundaymorningwithkasin
Happy birthday to the man who plays so many roles; best friend, husband, father, brother, son, leader, mentor, hard worker, and the list goes on. Can’t believe we’ve been together for 10 of your birthdays now! You’re getting old!! 😬 You are such a blessing in my life as a motivator, encourager, leader, husband and watching you take on the role of Daddy has been my favorite yet! I hope your birthday is as great as you are, Jacob. 😊❤️
The best feeling in the world becoming a Mama is this. There are days I get so caught up in life, the fast-paced, constantly on the go, busy-ness of things that I forget to slow down and truly enjoy these sweet moments because I’m caught up in all that needs to be done and well just all the things but the feeling of having a little person love you, feel safe with you, and even need you are worth the messy house, dirty laundry, unwashed dishes, and whatever else is on that to-do list because for a time such is this I get to experience the sweetest of loves. This is the most precious gift I’ve ever received on this earth and when I begin to thank God for Kasin (and the little that’s to come) I begin to try to imagine how God must have felt and how much he loved us, sending his Son for someone like me, a person who doesn’t always give 100% and some days not even my 25% to being who I’ve been called to be. To send him to come here to devote his life to show us how to live, give, and then have to give His life for us.
I can’t imagine how He felt. He knew the cost and willingly sent him to pay the price for me, for you, for us. To try to comprehend that as a parent can be hard! This time of year it hits home a little more too. Little moments and reminders like this make all the mess and unfinished work totally worth it. Being a Mama is the hardest job I’ve ever loved and the sweetest most precious honor I’ve ever been given. ❤️
Do you ever have days where the Lord just gives you exactly what you need to hear? I do. ⠀
If you're anything like me, this time of year is chaotic! All the holiday events, shopping, end of the year numbers(from a bookkeeping standpoint), being 8 months pregnant, trying to prepare for baby #2, and having a 1-year-old, just to name a few, it's HARD to keep up! For me, it's coffee, schedules, and Jesus that keep me sane & well from forgetting everything because pregnancy brain is REAL. Especially when chasing a one year old around trying to keep his socks and shoes on or just to change his diaper, then there's trying to keep him from tearing down the house and the decorations, remembering what day it is, keeping the house halfway organized and clean, and well the list goes on.⠀
Today, I heard a quote from John Maxwell about time management and our attitudes and thought processes. He said, "Why spend time worrying about what you can't control when you can keep yourself busy with things that depend on you." ⠀
I honestly, sighed with relief! How true is that?! I have plenty of things to occupy my mind and time without the worry of others, criticism, failure, what the future holds, etc. Thank God for that because I know better, sometimes you just need a little reminder! ⠀
Then, I turned on my girl, Lauren Daigle's playlist and back to back there was, "I will trust in you" and "Everything". If you haven't heard them but tend to worry, pull them up... LIKE YESTERDAY! ⠀
I had a Coach that always said if things happen in 3s you better start listening because God is trying to tell you something. 🙌 Today that was it for me! ⠀
For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and love and a sound mind. - 2 Timothy 1:7 ⠀

Sunday’s are one of my favorite days because I can play dress up with Kasin. Any other day, I just let him go full boy sweats, t-shirts, diaper, whatever but Daddy helped us get ready this morning by doing Kasin’s hair. He has the craziest little hair.
One of the things I’m most thankful for is his preschool(daycare) during the week is at our church so come Sunday mornings he’s familiar with the setting and waving at everyone on the way in the door. He loves blowing kisses to the ladies 😘 and the smiles it brings makes my Mama heart smile. 😊 I’m so thankful for the little blessing he is in our lives for sure! ❤️
