A series of shots taken by the newest member of our Alpha Imaging Collective ( #AlphaCollective). Please join us in welcoming @tjdrysdale to the team! (Swipe to see more of his AMAZING work 👀) • • "I've been asked a lot as to where I get my inspiration from. I've always been inspired by the masterful landscape paintings from the 19th century. The light, the colors, everything just speaks to me. I love seeing how much time and effort went into each stroke, and I can only imagine how much they practiced to get to that level! I'm a firm believer that you can never learn enough, and the moment you think you have is the moment you start to regress. I strive every day to learn something new about art, and implement it into my work!" | a99 II | #SonyAlpha #BeAlpha at Thórsmörk

An epic sunset captured at the top of the Lofoten Islands by photographer @jakergb 👉🏽 "I took this image on a clear, cold winter day in the Lofoten Islands. After wading through waist-deep snow for a couple of hours, we made it to the summit just in time before the sun finally set behind the horizon. When shooting against the sun, I usually underexpose a bit trying to preserve some of the highlights to bring them back in post. It is shooting conditions like this that the amazing dynamic range of the a7 camera sensors really shines." | a7R III |16-35mm f4 | 16mm | f8 | 1/400 sec | ISO 100 | #SonyAlpha #BeAlpha at Lofoten Islands

The night sky over Mount Rainier captured by photographer @sonicscrewdriver with the #SonyAlpha a7 III. "I cannot describe how enjoyable it is to sit under the stars shooting images. This is one of those times where I can’t help but be so thankful to be alive. This was the last shot from an evening at Suntop lookout.. I was so tired, but kept clicking away. We had to wait until the core lined up with Mount Rainier." | a7 III | 50mm f2.0 | 6 sec | ISO 12,800 | #BeAlpha at Mount Rainier

📷: @philngyn "Just as I thought it couldn’t get any better than a snow covered Yosemite Valley, this incredible streak of light beamed through the clouds creating this mesmerizing glow on El Capitan. Using my telephoto lens, I decided to single out the areas of light and fog in an otherwise black-and-white, winter scenery." | #SonyAlpha a7 III | 70-200 f/2.8 GM | #BeAlpha #AlphaCollective at Yosemite National Park

Double Arch captured by photographer @samoetiker 👉🏽 "When shooting the stars at night, consider using additional light to illuminate your subject. When I arrived to shoot the magnificent Double Arch, I was lucky enough to find another photographer there who had already lit the front of the arch perfectly. Using a tripod and the a7 III's timer feature, I programmed the camera to shoot five continuous 25 second exposures, giving me a few minutes to scramble up in the darkness. Once in position, I filled the second arch with light using my head torch, to create one of my favorite self portraits ever." | a7 III | 12-24mm f4 | 12mm | f4 | 25 sec | ISO 6400 | #SonyAlpha #BeAlpha at Double Arch

📷: @jakergb "This shot was taken at the end of a sunny October day in the Columbia River Gorge. When shooting waterfalls, I usually aim for a .5 to 1.5 sec exposure, trying to add just the optimal amount of motion blur for my liking. Capturing this scene at the end of the day with the sun already setting behind the mountains, I was able to drag the shutter speed long enough without the need to use any ND filters." | a7R III | 24-105mm f4 | 30mm | f16 | 1.3 sec | ISO 100 | #SonyAlpha #BeAlpha at Columbia River Gorge

Here's a tip from photographer @t.w.i.l.l.i.a.m.s that was used to get this shot 👉🏽 "I strapped on my snowshoes recently in the Gifford Pinchot National Forest and captured Mt. Adams at sunset. To get sharp telephoto images in low light, I always make sure to use a remote trigger or the 10-second delay mode. Small vibrations take a while to subside, and can ruin great shots." | a7 III | 70-300mm G | f/9 | 1/10 sec | ISO 100 | #SonyAlpha #BeAlpha at Gifford Pinchot National Forest

Light trails in Zion National Park captured by photographer @frankiesutera . Swipe left to see a closer look ⚡️⚡️ • • "This photo was taken on a recent trip to Zion National Park at the Canyon Overlook Trail. Don't be afraid to take multiple exposures when shooting #astrophotography and light trails. This will allow you to get clean exposures of the foreground, light trails, and stars." | a7R II | 20mm | f2.8 | 3 Exposures (Stars: 25 sec | ISO 2000) | (Foreground: 13 sec | ISO 100 ) | (Light Trails: 325 sec | ISO 800) | #SonyAlpha #BeAlpha #zionnationalpark at Zion National Park

📷: @cannonmatt "This was one of the last photos I captured after a long day of driving and shooting in the Snæfellsnes peninsula of Iceland. There was just enough light left for me to rest my camera on the snow and take a stable image of this cozy winter home I wished I was staying in, before driving a couple more hours back to the city where we were actually staying." | a7 | 70-200mm f4 | | 144mm | f4 | 1/60 sec | ISO 2000 | #SonyAlpha #BeAlpha at Snæfellsnes Peninsula, Iceland

Photographer @tjdrysdale shares, "There was no real path to get there, we just hiked a steep hill and there we were! It felt pretty cool photographing a lesser-known location, it wasn't even on the park map. They say that sometimes the best views are off the beaten path, and I'm a firm believer in that now." (See below to read more.) | a99 | 15-30mm | 18mm | f4.5 | 1/800 | ISO 50 | #SonyAlpha #BeAlpha • • "Sometimes they [lesser known spots] are hard to come by unless you're experienced hikers/climbers which we are NOT 😂. You can usually find us photographing the same locations millions of others have and will continue to photograph. No shame in that at all, but what we have tried to do is photograph them from angles, and perspectives you don't usually see on social media. Next time you're at a popular location, give it a shot! Let your creativity run wild!" at Reserva nacional de Paracas

Lyo (@lyo.thecat) hanging out in his natural habitat 🔥 “We’ve been on an outside adventure with Lyo, in Trentino Alto Adige, and the view and the colors of the sunset were just breathtaking!” | a7 III | 35mm f/1.4 | f/1.6 | 1/1000 | ISO 100 | #SonyAlpha #BeAlpha at Trentino-Alto Adige/Südtirol

The night sky over H’awaii Volcanos National Park captured by #AlphaCollective member @erinoutdoors ✨✨ • • "If you have been to Hawaii, then you may be familiar with the feeling of wonder that it seems to instill in all its visitors. Photographing the stars in Hawai'i Volcanoes National Park meant a 1 a.m. wake up call and a huge sense of gratitude, for me anyway. Standing under such a dark sky always helps to put things in perspective for me. Here I wanted to use the silhouette of the tree to illustrate that feeling." | #SonyAlpha a7R III | 16-35mm f2.8 GM | 20mm | f2.8 | 15 sec | ISO 4000 | #BeAlpha #BeAlphaHawaii at Hawai'i Volcanoes National Park
