I've been continuous brewing #kombucha for several weeks now and I love it! It's so easy to just grab a quick glass of it now. I am still brewing in gallon jars also. I just converted one of my large beverage jars and ordered a lead-free spigot from Amazon. I'm always on the lookout for a two gallon---or better yet, 3 gallon glass or ceremic vessel to brew in, but nothing has come my way yet. Happy brewing!
I just love this old lamp.
One of my collections I have is oil lamps like this. Not only are they beautiful and useful, but they satisfy my inner "pioneer" spirit.
Ready to go in the oven! Homemade, soft white wheat, 30 minute rolls. I am craving homemade bread so bad!! Maybe this will satisfy me for a while :))))
Gorgeous day on the farm!
It wouldn't be Thanksgiving time without Brad's grandmother's chocolate and coconut pie💕
I used fresh ground Kamut for the crust. It usually turns out tasty so we'll see!
This is the last of the garden peppers #fermented and boy, are they delicious! I love snacking on them!
Drying oranges for decoration in between all the spinning and baking! I thought it was fitting to use the Valencia filter.
I am very excited about my new project I started! I'm using Jacob wool, raised here on the farm :) I'm spinning in a somewhat crazy way..... leaving lumps and bumps, letting little end curls stay and poke out of the spun wool. It's very freeing to create like this. Do you know how hard it is to do this after you've trained your hands to do opposite?! I'm throwing all the rules out and letting the creativity flow today!
Sawyer is so fun!! He loves to play and help on the farm!

Watering the cows and giving them snacks❤
Love my little herd💕
I'm picking lemons today!
My lemon tree is still going strong. I gave it a haircut before I brought it in this year. It's first. Hopefully after I pick, it will flush with new blooms. This is it's very favorite spot with lots of natural light and the woodstove near.
My lovely daughter, @yarnfully.yours, gave me the "yarn bug" this weekend, so I pulled out my wheel yesterday and all my fiber and started dreaming again❤❤
I decided to finish up this blue blend from years ago just to get it used up. I see it sitting in it's basket when I peek around in my stash occasionally and it screams to be spun, so it's on its way to a fun project!
When I put all my spinning stuff away a few years back, I was stuck in a rut with it. I have a pretty big stash of Jacob sheep wool. It's been a dream of mine to complete a "sheep to shawl" project from sheep we raised here on our farm, to the whole processing of the fleece-- to a crocheted item! (I personally want to make a newsboy hat and messenger bag❤❤) My problem is I really, REALLY dislike hand carding huge amounts of wool 😜😜😜😜😜
It takes the joy out of the whole thing for me.
So, I'm thinking on getting a drum carder💕💕It sure would make things so much easier and faster!! And you can blend so much better than by hand.
It's on my list!!

Happy Saturday!! Only a momma's heart knows the joy of having all her 'not so littles' under one roof, and my heart is brusting! Good food, fellowship and catching up is what's going on here today!! I'm blessed❤❤
Let the fun begin!! at Crane Hill, Alabama
I had two loaves of homemade bread that I over proofed the other day, so I went ahead and baked the poor things because I knew I could make #homemade croutons with them!! Another option would be bread crumbs, but I dont use crumbs much in my cooking, so croutons it is :)
Amish Country Bread.
Im not even ashamed to admit, this is the third morning we've had these soooo good #sourdough #pancakes!! With a side of #bacon of course!
The recipe is out of the Homestead Blessings cookbook. I did just a few things differently which was add full whole wheat and for the milk, I used active kefir milk. It is so very delicious and I plan to serve these next time the family comes to visit!!
Thank you ladies, @homestead_blessings for a terrific recipe again! We oooh and aaaah through breakfast these days!

What a great day on the farm! Its been a very, VERY long time since I've had a day like today. I've got a long list of things to do this week while I'm home!! Lots of outside projects and today I started by grading the driveway, put out hay, got things ready for milking again, repaired a fence, moved cows/bull over in another pasture, (because I am NOT fighting the bull to get to the barn to milk.....I used to be able to "dance" with him as far as controlling him, but he's got a temper and he did kill our other bull soooooo, just not doin that :)))
Anyway, It really felt like old times when the kids were still here and we'd go out and do all this together. I just think that's some of my fondest memories and I miss those. Now, Brody did help me all afternoon and it was so nice :)) I think he misses those days too :)
I can not wait until my porch is finished!!! I gotta put that on my list!
