Frozen Richland Falls this time last week. Love that reflection on the ice. The only other person we saw on trail all day was thankfully standing here for scale. Sorry if we scared you off man, but thanks for letting us have this place all to ourselves after this photo! ❄

I loved these smooth and interesting textures of rock. The trail turned into a natural sidewalk, stopping me in my tracks to appreciate these stones. From a cold and wet hike along Richland Creek, no one around, just the sound of water.

Ozark layers and candy colored skies. Two of my favorite things.

Took advantage of Sunday rains and went waterfall exploring yesterday. Standing underneath this beauty was an incredible experience. The relaxing feeling of rushing water combined with ice structures twice my height made for a unforgettable moment. Only snow could have made it better! Check out my story if you want to see some more of this fun day in the Ozarks!

Decided to pass on the Razorbacks game last night and go shoot some sunset portraits instead. I think I made the right decision... Loving this 35mm lens!

If your New Year's resolution was to see more sunsets, I applaud your decision! Here's the last one I caught of 2017. Cotton candy skies over the Little Piney River. (Taken on my Samsung Galaxy s5) 🌅

As if these mossy rocks and orange sediment weren't beautiful enough, Mother Nature decided to throw in icicles taller than me around the waterfall. I didn't want to leave... #igersarkansas #arkmophs #wonderfularkansas at Ozark National Forest
Jumping into 2018 like... •

Reflections on the Buffalo. 🍃
I can't believe this is the last day of 2017! I feel like it just started yesterday! I am so grateful for everyday I've had this year, the memories I'll have forever, the times with friends and family, losing a couple, gaining a few more. Growing closer to what's important to me in life and pushing toward the life I'm creating. Persistence is everything.
Here's to living and not just existing. To creating the happy moments that stick with you forever, especially with the people that help make those memories what they are. Looking forward to another great year. It's all about the moments, the memories, and the ups and downs in between. Can't wait for what's next!

Fort Douglas Bridge at dusk after a day of adventure and waterfall chasing in the Ozarks. Last hike of the year was one for the books. There's nothing like experiencing new and beautiful places for the first time, especially when you have them all to yourself. The Unboxing. A moment of happiness and gratitude. 🎁
Had an amazing hike in the Ozarks today and took some great photos, but felt it was fitting to share this final holiday pic before the new year kicks off. Tiffany embracing her new green coat on Christmas day.

Zeus definitely isn't ready for Christmas to be over... Honestly, after the amazing day I had yesterday, I feel his pain. I hope everyone had a happy and beautiful Christmas day full of family, friends, food and fun. It's gonna take a lot to top this one next year!🎄 #christmas #dogsofinstragram #portraitphotography

Today my heart is with Utah, and frankly all of this country's beautiful public lands that will be at stake in future years. Today, President Trump is expected to make a drastic and historic change to two National Monuments in Utah (Bears Ears and Grand Staircase Escalante). Bears Ears could be cut by 70-90% along with Grand Staircase Escalante being divided into three new monuments, reducing the area's size in half. These are some or the most beautiful and remote areas in the US, prized by many, especially the Native tribes that consider these ancestral homes sacred. Bears Ears is home to 10,000+ archaeological sites alone. •
In some ways, it is pure spite as revenge against the previous two Democratic presidents that designated these areas. In other ways, it is money, in the sense that these areas could be opened to future mining and drilling endeavors. It is sad to think parts of these places could be destroyed in such a way. •
Where will it stop if it starts here? Half of Redwood National Park open to timber companies? This is the first such reversal in over half a century by a President. Hopefully things don't go as he plans, but I see a dark future ahead. I saw it a year ago when regulations changed in coal mining Appalachia. These places were protected by the people of this country that realize there is more than just dollars to be harvested. These public lands are important to us as a people never steering too far from our roots, realizing this is our Earth to save and share. Let's not let a small portion of new potential jobs destroy what has been here for millennia. We must be stronger stewards of our planet than that.

I just wanted to say thank you to @localar and @spacitycycling along with @livnativ and all the other sponsors and judges that helped choose my photo as the winner for their contest! It truly was an incredible surprise! I'm very honored to have been chosen out of all the other amazing photographers that also entered the contest, many of whom I look up to! And also a huge thank you to all of you that appreciate my photos everyday! You guys are awesome! I love being out and in nature and capturing the moments of beauty and peace that I find in those places. I share them mostly as a way to document my adventures but also because I love photography and the entire process behind each photo, and if one other person out there likes it also, then great! If I get one person to want to go outside and see these places with their own eyes, then I am happy. With that being said, thank you all for supporting me everyday, you guys are everything. I'm not a photographer, I'm just a guy with a camera who loves doing just that. Being outside and taking pictures. Thanks again guys!

Being sick sucks. But at least I have a good book and Stranger Things Season 2. Hope everyone else gets to enjoy this beautiful SPRING day we are having! Thanks to this bipolar weather, I'll be stuck in bed today drinking Alka Seltzer and cough medicine. But hey, life could be worse right? Oh and here's a pic of a couple of my favorite gnarled trees in the Ozarks. Some of these guys are over 800 years old! Talk about resilient. 📷: shot on my Samsung s5
