LEAVING INDIA ON A HIGH!๐Ÿ‡ฎ๐Ÿ‡ณ๐Ÿ‡ฎ๐Ÿ‡ณ . After Pakistan I popped back into India for a few days because I have a flight out of Delhi (see my stories to see where to)!โœˆ๏ธ . Iโ€™m so excited by the next few countries Iโ€™m going to but Iโ€™m also gutted to be leaving as thereโ€™s sooo much I wanted to do in India on this trip but didnโ€™t! However, sacrificing 3 weeks to go to Pakistan was worth it!๐Ÿ˜€ . And I just have to remind myself that I have time, I donโ€™t need to rush everything nowโ˜บ๏ธ. Iโ€™m going to be travelling full time for the next few years, and probably beyond that haha, so thereโ€™s still time!๐Ÿ˜‰ . Namaste for now India! See you in January for a totally new adventure!๐Ÿ‡ฎ๐Ÿ‡ณ๐Ÿฅฐ at Old Delhi

RIDING A BIKE THROUGH OLD DELHI- Crazy or Not?!?๐Ÿšฒ๐Ÿ‡ฎ๐Ÿ‡ณ . Turns out, just like many thoughts on India, it really wasnโ€™t as scary as I thought it would be! In fact, it was an amazing!๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ’›๐Ÿ‡ฎ๐Ÿ‡ณ . The colour, the smells, the religion, the animals, the stories, the absolute organised chaos of this country was pretty much captured in a 4 hour bike ride with @spinmonkey_tours.โœจ๐Ÿšฒ . I was testing it out to see if I wanted to include it in my tours and we will 100% be going on it!๐Ÿ™Œ๐Ÿป . Have a look at my stories for the full tour and swipe to see some videos!โ†–๏ธโžก๏ธ๐Ÿ“น . Tour wise- thereโ€™s now ONE PLACE AVAILABLE ON THE JANUARY TOUR. And 8 PLACES ON THE MARCH TOUR so if you want to join me for 2 weeks of colour, culture & fun. DM me!!๐Ÿ‡ฎ๐Ÿ‡ณ๐ŸŽ‰๐Ÿ™๐Ÿผ at Old Delhi

THATโ€™S A WRAP PAKISTAN!๐Ÿ‡ต๐Ÿ‡ฐโœŒ๐Ÿผโค๏ธ . This country had eluded me for years, I think because of how unknown it has been, how hard it has been to get a visa and the idea of โ€˜dangerโ€™ around it.๐Ÿค” . I know not to trust & believe what the media says, I know that they want to install a constant sense of fear in us to keep us small, to keep us buying more, to keep them on top and in power.๐Ÿ™„ . But even then, without the fear of going to Pakistan, I still didnโ€™t expect what I experienced.๐Ÿ’š . The hospitality, the welcome, the openness, the amazing conversations, the love, the mountains and the adventures.๐Ÿ‡ต๐Ÿ‡ฐ๐Ÿš˜๐Ÿ” . ... and the cold showers, bad tummy & lack of internet, because I donโ€™t BS and tell you itโ€™s all good!๐Ÿ˜‰ Itโ€™s safe to say Iโ€™m already planning a return trip AND Iโ€™m hoping some of you will be able to join me too so Iโ€™ll work on that & keep you posted!๐Ÿ˜€ . INSTA VS REALITY- Itโ€™s not just places that can seem different on Instagram vs in real life. People can be very different too!๐Ÿค” . However, I can confirm that this guy- @traveltomtom, is exactly like he is on Instagram in real life!๐Ÿคฉ . Itโ€™s always a risk travelling with someone, whether you know them well or not, especially when youโ€™re used to solo travel like me. You spend more time together travelling than you do in any other situation in life, itโ€™s literally 24/7 and thereโ€™s a lot of joint decisions to be made!๐Ÿคฏ๐Ÿคฃ . But he is as genuine and as fun as he is in his photos & videos๐Ÿ“น! His passion for travel showed in every conversation we had (we literally didnโ€™t stop talking about travel๐Ÿคฃ) and I canโ€™t wait to see him finish every country in the world๐ŸŒŽ๐Ÿฅณ! . So if youโ€™re not following him already, make sure you do!๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿป . Thanks for being an awesome Pakistan travel buddy @traveltomtom .. and photographer!๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿผ Until next time!๐Ÿ˜‰๐Ÿ‡ต๐Ÿ‡ฐ at Wagah Border - India Pakistan Border

YES, THIS IS STILL PAKISTAN!๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜ฏ๐Ÿ‡ต๐Ÿ‡ฐ . We left the mountains to head to Islamabad for 2 days of filming๐Ÿ“น to show you alll of the cool things you can do in the city! @traveltomtom & I were shown around by the lovely @humnaraza who is from Islamabad!๐Ÿ‡ต๐Ÿ‡ฐโค๏ธ . We went jet skiing, rock climbing๐Ÿง—๐Ÿผโ€โ™€๏ธ, zip lining, go-karting๐ŸŽ, for brunch๐Ÿฅž and for a fancy dinner with a city view๐ŸŒƒ. We went to the biggest mosque in Pakistan๐Ÿ•Œ and hiking in the woods where we met a lot of ๐Ÿ’๐Ÿ’! . So the question is- did you think Pakistan would be like this???๐Ÿ˜‰๐Ÿ‡ต๐Ÿ‡ฐ . I really like Islamabad! Itโ€™s clean, itโ€™s easy, itโ€™s chilled & full of friendly people. I could definitely live here for awhile!๐Ÿ˜›๐Ÿก . Check out my story highlights to see more of what we did!โ†–๏ธ at Islamabad Capital City

BE EASY ON YOURSELF.โœจ . You are not meant to find all of yourself now. You are not ready to find all of yourself now. Thatโ€™s the fun of it.โœจ . start of the week reminder inspired by @jannerobinson ๐Ÿ’› at Hunza, Northern Areas, Pakistan

DO I EVER GET HOMESICK? Not really!๐Ÿก๐Ÿ™Ž๐Ÿผโ€โ™€๏ธ . I canโ€™t always explain why & often when I do I feel like a cold hearted b***t but essentially, I just feel like I have a gypsy soul. I love moving around far from โ€˜homeโ€™ and itโ€™s what feels most comfortable for me.๐ŸŒŽโœŒ๐Ÿผ . However, two things that help me not get homesick & miss my family are 1- the idea that wherever I am is home. I am my home, not an external feature.๐Ÿก . And 2- the people I meet a long the way, the people that become family members for a few hours or days.๐Ÿ‘จโ€๐Ÿ‘ฉโ€๐Ÿ‘ฆโ€๐Ÿ‘ฆ . In Hunza we went out on a walk with this 72 year old man & grandad and I felt so at peace with him, laughing at his jokes and listening to his stories and itโ€™s moments and memories like this that donโ€™t make you feel thousands of miles from home, they help make you feel at home here, in this vast mountain landscape.๐Ÿ”๐Ÿ‡ต๐Ÿ‡ฐ . Does that make sense?? Do you get homesick?? . Thank you to @traveltomtom for the candid photos!๐Ÿ™๐Ÿผ๐Ÿ‡ต๐Ÿ‡ฐ at Passu, upper Hunza Valley, Gilgit-Baltistan

THIS IS AS DANGEROUS AS PAKISTAN GETS GUYS!๐Ÿ‡ต๐Ÿ‡ฐ๐Ÿ˜‰ . This is Hussaini Bridge in Hunza- Northern Pakistan, itโ€™s a wobbly suspension bridge over the Hunza River.๐Ÿ˜ณ . It became pretty famous through YouTube & social media, so much so that these days, during the day itโ€™s manned by guards and you can only take 5 steps along it๐Ÿ˜, but we met a local who took us to it at 7am so we could cross the whole thing!๐Ÿคซ๐Ÿ˜€ . Itโ€™s not actually that dangerous, just a little scary but this is the only time Iโ€™ve felt worried during my trip!๐Ÿ˜Š๐Ÿ‡ต๐Ÿ‡ฐ . Although side note- there are still certain areas of Pakistan that are dangerous, they are just not the places tourists do, should, or can go.. so donโ€™t worry about that!๐Ÿ˜Š . To see the full amazing walk we did that morning have a look at my stories, it was a highlight of our trip up North for sure!๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ” . ๐Ÿ“ธ- @traveltomtom at Hussaini Bridge

IF YOU WANT AN ADVENTURE, COME TO PAKISTAN!๐Ÿ‡ต๐Ÿ‡ฐ๐Ÿ˜‰โœŒ๐Ÿผ . Snow, Goats, Jeeps, Lakes, Valleys, Tea, Food Tents, Friendly People.๐Ÿ”๐ŸŒจ๐Ÿโ˜•๏ธโ›บ๏ธ๐Ÿ‡ต๐Ÿ‡ฐ . These are just a few things that made up our 2 days hiring a jeep and driver to get us from Skardu to Hunza!๐Ÿš˜ . It turns out that you canโ€™t hire a car as a foreigner in Pakistan and although that would have been a random adventure for sure, we had fun taking in the views from the back!๐Ÿ˜ . This was a day where all I could say was- I love this country!!๐Ÿ‡ต๐Ÿ‡ฐ๐Ÿ’š at Deosai National Park

WHAT DO YOU DO WHEN YOUR FLIGHT GETS CANCELLED IN PAKISTAN??๐Ÿค”๐Ÿคท๐Ÿผโ€โ™€๏ธ๐Ÿ‡ต๐Ÿ‡ฐ . You donโ€™t moan, you donโ€™t bitch, you book another flight to a different airport for the next day & know that it all happened for a reason and is part of the adventure!๐Ÿ˜€๐Ÿ‘Š๐Ÿผโœˆ๏ธ . Well, thatโ€™s what we did anyway!๐Ÿ˜‰๐Ÿ‡ต๐Ÿ‡ฐ . We ended up in Skardu with 1 days notice with no clue what was there but we rocked up to this lake, went out on a boat, found a guesthouse with just 2 rooms, explored the area, spoke to groups of Pakistani people who were also visiting, drank a lot of tea and watched the stars before going to bed to do it all over again!๐Ÿ›ถ๐Ÿ‘ฃโ›ฐ๐Ÿ’ซ . Donโ€™t get me wrong, sometimes travel needs to be planned, sometimes a cancelled flight is a nightmare but if youโ€™re in the right situation with time to spare and no expectations, these setbacks will lead you somewhere magical!โ˜บ๏ธโœจ๐Ÿ‡ต๐Ÿ‡ฐ at Upper Kachura Lake Skardu , Beautiful Baltistan

โ€˜If you reject the food, ignore the customs, fear the religion and avoid the people, you might be better staying at home.โ€™ . This travel quote is an oldie but a goodie!๐ŸŒ๐Ÿ“ . The thing is, is that travel isnโ€™t for everyone. Long ago I realised that not everyone should travel! Mainly because if everyone travelled it wouldnโ€™t be as special.๐Ÿคท๐Ÿผโ€โ™€๏ธ๐Ÿคฃ . But for those of us that do travel itโ€™s important to remember that weโ€™re travelling to foreign places as guests, we should not judge, even though it can be hard not to initially, we should not be rude, and the lesson I want to share from my trip in Pakistan is that we should not be afraid either.โœจ at Faisal Masjid Islamabad

IS PAKISTAN SAFE FOR FEMALE TRAVELLERS??๐Ÿ‡ต๐Ÿ‡ฐ๐Ÿ‡ต๐Ÿ‡ฐ . I know thatโ€™s a big & popular question so after spending one week in Pakistan, letโ€™s talk about that (in my 2000th insta post๐Ÿ˜‰)โฌ‡๏ธ. . I think itโ€™s important to think about what โ€˜safeโ€™ means to you. Theft, rape, harassment, murder?? What do you mean by โ€˜is it safe?โ€™ โ€˜Will I be safe?โ€™๐Ÿค” . In terms of being in Pakistan I can tell you I have felt none of the above!๐Ÿ™…๐Ÿผโ€โ™€๏ธ The people here have been so nice, welcoming & respectful and even thinking about the possibility of the above happening makes me sad because itโ€™s just so far from how I have been treated here!๐Ÿ˜ฆ . The most intense feeling Iโ€™ve had here due to Male attention is when we were asked for a lot of selfies here in the mosque in Lahore and in the mosque in Islamabad. But the thing with selfies is if you say yes, people keep asking, and Tom & I were happy to take them, but you can say no and then you donโ€™t attract the crowd, and had I been solo I probably would have said no, and that would have cleared that situation up.๐Ÿคณ๐Ÿผ๐Ÿคณ๐Ÿผ๐Ÿคณ๐Ÿผ . When people stare, which of course they do because tourists are not so common here, we smile back and 9/10 the smile is returned.๐Ÿ˜Š . And in terms of covering up, yes many women here are religious & conservative but many are also modern & cool. Iโ€™ve been wearing trousers that cover my knees and tops that cover my shoulders but my arms are out, my head is out and Iโ€™ve felt totally comfortable.๐Ÿ’๐Ÿผโ€โ™€๏ธ(My head is covered in this photo because weโ€™re in a mosque!๐Ÿ•Œ) . Of course things are slightly different because Iโ€™m travelling Pakistan with @traveltomtom BUT Iโ€™ve travelled enough on my own to know how to look at and assess situations to see if I would still feel ok solo so you can trust me when I say that if you want to visit Pakistan as a solo female or as a group of females, you should!๐Ÿ’•๐Ÿ‡ต๐Ÿ‡ฐ . Keep up to date with my trip to Pakistan in my stories because Iโ€™m heading up North next!!๐Ÿ˜€โ†–๏ธ at Lahore, Pakistan

LAHORE- I didnโ€™t end up seeing much of Lahore in just the 1.5 days I had there but I liked what I saw!๐Ÿ˜€๐Ÿ‡ต๐Ÿ‡ฐ . We stayed in a pretty good neighbourhood with huge homes & lots of western restaurants.๐Ÿก . From what I saw of the old walled city, itโ€™s certainly very old! It was dusty & busy & loud but thatโ€™s most Asian Cities for you.๐Ÿคท๐Ÿผโ€โ™€๏ธ . We found peace in the Fort & Mosque complex (apart from the endless selfie requests, if you want to feel like a celeb, come to Pakistan quick).๐Ÿ™๐Ÿผ . I thought Lahore would be way more intense than it was to be honest so it was a pleasant surprise!๐Ÿ˜€ . And I hope to keep the pleasant surprises coming in Pakistan!!๐Ÿ‡ต๐Ÿ‡ฐ๐Ÿ˜‰ . ๐Ÿ“ธ- @traveltomtom at Lahore, Pakistan

COMING IN WITH A LOT OF COLOUR FROM MY FIRST PAKISTAN POST!!๐ŸŒˆ๐ŸšŒ๐Ÿ‡ต๐Ÿ‡ฐ๐Ÿ’๐Ÿผโ€โ™€๏ธ . The public buses and trucks in Pakistan are super colourful, in fact their โ€˜truck artโ€™ is now a well known genre around the world!๐Ÿ˜ฏ . Itโ€™s said that each truck represents the drivers religion & region.๐ŸŽจ . The truck painting started with spiritual guruโ€™s and saints being pained on the sides but as time went on, Pakistan gained independence & more commercial billboards appeared in the country, the designs started to engulf the whole truck with calligraphy, images and a psychedelic design.๐ŸŒˆ . Thereโ€™s a book about the โ€˜hippie trailโ€™ (the overland trail many Europeans took in the 60โ€™s & 70โ€™s from Europe to India), that says on reaching Pakistan travellers would take LSD & then go โ€˜bus & truck spottingโ€™ which was a psychedelic heaven!๐Ÿคฃ๐Ÿ„ . Does this surprise you about Pakistan or did you know of the truck art before???๐Ÿ‡ต๐Ÿ‡ฐ๐Ÿ‡ต๐Ÿ‡ฐ๐Ÿ‡ต๐Ÿ‡ฐ๐Ÿ‡ต๐Ÿ‡ฐ at Lahore, Pakistan

SO THIS HAPPENED!! Iโ€™M IN PAKISTAN!!๐Ÿ‡ต๐Ÿ‡ฐ๐Ÿ‡ต๐Ÿ‡ฐ๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜ . Iโ€™ve felt pulled to visit Pakistan for years! I donโ€™t know why, probably because so many people would ask why.๐Ÿ˜… . And when I heard about the Wagah Border a few years ago and that itโ€™s possible to cross it, I knew I wanted to do it and I just did.๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿผ . I honestly feel so so unbelievably lucky & grateful to be able to cross this border. The citizens of each country have a lot of issues crossing despite their connected past. I feel so lucky to have had my visa approved, itโ€™s not the easiest process but has become easier this year and Iโ€™m sure my Passport privilege helped!๐Ÿ™๐Ÿผ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿผ . Thereโ€™s not a second that goes by where I donโ€™t feel appreciative of everything that I have, everything I am and everything thatโ€™s ahead of me and situations like this remind of me this even more!๐Ÿฅฐ . Bring on the next 2 weeks in Pakistan!!!๐Ÿ‡ต๐Ÿ‡ฐ๐Ÿ‡ต๐Ÿ‡ฐ๐Ÿ‡ต๐Ÿ‡ฐ๐Ÿ‡ต๐Ÿ‡ฐ at Wagah Border - India Pakistan Border

The famous Wagah Border ceremony. India vs Pakistan!๐Ÿ‡ฎ๐Ÿ‡ณ๐Ÿ‡ต๐Ÿ‡ฐ . Can you believe that every night of the year a ceremony between the guards is held before the border closes for the night??๐Ÿ˜ฏ . Itโ€™s a mixture of fighting, dancing and a lot of stomping & cheering.๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿผ check out my stories to see what it was like last night! โ†–๏ธ . Itโ€™s been so interesting learning about this border partition the last few days. It was the British that partitioned India into 2 countries (India & Pakistan & later Bangladesh was split too) in 1947. The border decision should have been worked out over years but instead it was decided in just 5 WEEKS by a British lawyer who had never even been to India!!๐Ÿ˜– . It destroyed lives, it tore up families, it divided religions and the two country leaders are still against each other right now!๐Ÿ˜• . As a tourist to Amritsar, this ceremony is a must do experience. Itโ€™s totally crazy! Iโ€™ve been lucky enough to see it twice on the India side and if Iโ€™m lucky Iโ€™m going to see it on the Pakistan side too!๐Ÿ˜‰ stay tuned to see if it happens!๐Ÿ‡ฎ๐Ÿ‡ณ๐Ÿ‡ต๐Ÿ‡ฐ๐Ÿ‡ต๐Ÿ‡ฐ๐Ÿ‡ฎ๐Ÿ‡ณ at India Pakistan Border, Wagah, Attari

โ€˜You may worship a certain god or follow a certain religion, but when it comes to spirituality, no religion is different. Spiritualism comes from your soul, and the philosophies of every religion, no matter how different, they will all help you reach out to your soul.โ€™๐Ÿ™๐Ÿผ . Despite not being Sikh, I feel so so lucky to have been able to visit the Golden Temple in Amritsar twice! This is the most important temple in the Sikh religion. People come thousands of miles to come here.๐Ÿ’› . Itโ€™s easy as privileged travellers to take these places for granted but I think if we learn even just a little about each religion we come across around the world and take just a bit in, weโ€™ll be better humans for it afterwards โ˜บ๏ธ at Golden Temple
