Woodland Whispers . We have lots of wild baby rabbits born in the garden every year & I enjoy watching & filming them but rarely do I photograph them when I’m out. However, these two newly emerged kits were too sweet to miss. Photographed on Thursday morning when walking on the estate where I live. I was super surprised to still see the odd bluebell, thought they would have long gone. Anyways, hope you’re enjoying this stunning Sunday evening sunshine.

‘Mogshade’ . - Old English dialect which describes the shadows created by trees What a great word. I just had to use it. Perhaps not quite what they had in mind but I liked it anyways 😊 This pic was taken in September last year whilst visiting Long Meg & Lacy’s Caves. There is something fascinating about old greenways that stir the thoughts of times gone by. Have a relaxing Sunday everyone 🍃 at Glassonby

Blossom & Buttercups I’m always mesmerised by these bent Hawthorns, especially at this time of year. Normally battling the coastal winds (as they will be today) 🌬 🌳 but not last week when the weather was glorious. Hope you all have a wonderful Bank Holiday weekend 🙋‍♀️ at Grange-over-Sands

Little Wings . I’ve ventured out! 🤭 And visited #SizerghCastle for the first time. It was stunning & totally worth the trip. After ogling the 100 year old Acers, I was drawn to the water (as is normal) & happened upon these gorgeous Mallard ducklings enjoining the Spring sunshine. This one caught my eye 💓 Enjoy you Sunday evening everyone. #nationaltrust at Sizergh Castle and Garden

A misty May morning in the Lake District . Just realised this shot is very similar to my last one. It was certainly not intentional as I generally like a bit of diversity but hey, there you go, it’s on now 😂 Hope you all have a great Sunday evening & the week ahead is set to be 🌤🌳 ... springlike 🙋‍♀️ at Penrith, Cumbria

Bluebells with a pinch of sunlight 💙 You are all probably tired of bluebell shots by now but I’m always late to the party so I figured, why change now 😁 Have a wonderful Sunday evening! V at Flakebridge

Beyond the chasm of earthy tones. Of browns & russets & sables. A broad, viridian enchantment waits. Filled with magic & mysteries & fables . Some trees just demand to be noticed 🌳 Hope you all have a great Sunday. at The Lake District, Cumbria

Life in the old boot 4 months off & then 2 posts in 3 days! I can only apologise 😂 However, this post is by way of a thank you to everyone who has continued to follow & support me, even when I have struggled to reciprocate. I truly appreciate it & it has certainly helped when times have been tough 🤦‍♀️ It never goes unnoticed! . This is a little Bank Vole (Myodes glareolus) using the cover of an old boot to gather a few hazelnuts that I put out regularly. I never get tired of seeing her. 💕

To walk with nature is to witness a thousand miracles . I know, it’s been a while hasn’t it !😂 Wishing you all a happy #eastersunday 🐣 at Whale, Cumbria

One of those moments when an evening walk by the river whilst looking for wildlife with a new lens pays dividends. Sadly no wildlife but a stunning display of sun tinted lenticular clouds worthy of a snap. Have a great Sunday evening everyone x at Penrith, Cumbria

Inspiration... Ginger 😉 . So whilst having a brew in the kitchen this morning and mulling over a rebranding of my rustic home furnishings & decorating business @Todstails (the name never really fitted) we had a visit from our resident red squirrel. I am hoping you like my return to insta?? I know I am useless at it ☺️🕊 . Anyway, I have a shortlist of 4 new names. Please comment 1,2,3 or 4 to help me decide. I have a favourite but would really appreciate some external input & support 😊 thank you all so much!! . 1. The Cumbrian Cottage 2. House of Eden 3. House of Green Ginger 4. Savage Whiskers 🐿 . I feel pretty lucky to have this little squirrel visit most mornings. I didn’t know that squirrels, once regularly feeding, come to rely on the food source so it’s vitally important to make sure that food is always available. It’s a small price to pay to help one of Britain’s endangered species. . #redsquirrel #reflection #reflectionpool #featured_wildlife #springwatch #nationaltrust #rural_love #moodygrams #natureonly #hubs_united #lakedistrict #fromlakelandwithlove #britishwildlife #the_gallery_of_magic #gottolove_this #quest_for_magic #ig_today #depths_of_world #exceptional_pictures #magic_marvels #fingerprintofgod #ourmoodydays #heart_imprint_vip #ig_color #fromlakelandwithlove #fiftyshades_of_nature #visitbritain #got__greatshots #9vaga_naturesmiracles9 #THEPIPAS2018 at Lake District National Park

‘What beauty in sadness’ . Emerald Damselfly (Lestes sponsa) . I have had an unusual, yet blissfully happy Spring! The weather for starters has been fantastic & this is the first year in ages that I’ve been at home to appreciate the arrival of new life in Lakeland. . I’ve been wandering down by the river most mornings before work & spending time adjusting, and hopefully improving my photography. Most days taking either a macro or telephoto (usually both) & a small roll of tarp to sit on. On this occasion I was lucky to spot an Emerald Damselfly in amongst the mellay of Common Blues. Perched emerald damselflies can be distinguished from others by their habitat of holding their wings half open, rather than closed along the length of their body & another interesting trait to this particular #damselfly is they have an endearing way of twisting or dancing around the grass stem as if to hide from any onlooker. Usually the last to emerge in the uk but the weather has been so warm I guess they came early. Anyway, she was looking so sad yet so beautiful I just had to share! The bonus dew drop made the picture even more poignant. Hope you enjoy. #THEPIPAS2018 at River Lowther

The jaws of Haweswater & the ghosts of Mardale . Now let’s not get bogged down that it’s a man made reservoir built to serve Manchester water. But instead, concentrate on the fact that this place is devastatingly beautiful, full of ethereal charm & ghost stories of a sunken village. This is my favourite place to feel alive in the mountains. Where is your favourite? ⛰💗 at Haweswater Reservoir

THE LIMESTONE PAVEMENT . Back to my favourite muse 🌳 💕 . Winter is slowly abating & spring is surely settling in. Before it goes completely I wanted to post this skeleton tree I’ve had lingering on my hard drive. I had to walk a fair distance in freezing fog (4 miles carrying heavy stuff 😂) for this beauty. Surround by limestone, it stands watch over the valley below. My dannies nearly froze as I was taking its portrait. There was a weak sun but it did nowt to warm them. Brrr....

In her finest Winter coat ❄️ Taken a couple of weeks ago in Lowther Park. I took a duvet morning off work to catch a few snowy shots as I knew we wouldn’t have the snow for long & I was right, this snow was already melting. The slither of golden light didn’t last long either but it temporarily created a low level mist. Not the shot I was after but I kinda liked it all the same. #THEPIPAS2018 at Lowther, Cumbria
