Goodbye summer you will be missed. A beach day would be nice right about now. There is just something about the ocean that always strikes a chord in my soul.
It’s Friday! Time to head back out in to the wild! #getoutstayout at Lake 22
It was a cold morning when the alarm went off at 4am. I remember just wanting to stay bundled up in the sleeping bag. For whatever reason I didn’t, there was a calling and we answered. We drove the 2 miles of bumpy backcountry road in the dead of night to get to the trailhead. Then began an early morning hike up to summit lake. Our headlamps lit the way on a trail littered with bear tracks and fear sunk in. We pushed on racing the sun as it rose slowly lighting the earth more and more. The hike was strenuous for a body that had just been woken from a deep sleep. Eventually we made it to the top just moments before the sun crossed the horizon. This was the first time I ever captured a sun rise. Many lessons to learn but the experience will never be forgotten.
Took a day trip up to Deception pass with my two favorite people. It’s the simple things like spending time together that bring the most happiness. at Deception Pass State Park
For a moment I thought I was on a tropical island somewhere in the gulf. The blue waters of this alpine lake were incredible.
These days are getting short but the views just keep getting better.
Twenty miles of rough terrain leading up to this gorgeous lake nestled in Mount Rainier. A cool fog was on its way out opening up the sun bathed cliff side. Not many more sunny days remain here so it was nice to embrace this one.
Took a mini road trip to the backcountry without much of a plan. A couple long miles on some rough terrain and we ended up here. It felt like one of those secrets you accidentally discover and can’t believe it is real.
It is crazy that each time I visit this place how different it is. This particular day was so clear and the trees are just getting ready to turn. #unexpectedmagic at Rattlesnake Lake
I’ve been trying to make working out more fun. Placing rocks in my pack adds extra weight for strength training and helps prepare for backpacking trips. And best of all I can enjoy views like these rather then watching a TV at the gym. #getoutstayout at Rattlesnake Lake
No matter how much research I do or how many pictures I see of a particular place. There is always a wow factor that we just can’t capture. I hope this picture at least takes the first step and inspires someone to get out there and enjoy this planet. at Heather Lake Trail
Life can be so busy sometimes. It was nice to hang out by this waterfall and drown out all the racing thoughts. at Franklin Falls
Those fall colors are just about to pop. Getting ready for a fall photo shoot.
Last minute trip planning usually never works out. However this day was an exception. We got to the lake at the perfect time and no one around. #atpeacewithnature at Heather Lake Trail

The Bellevue downtown park is finally finished which gives me another good reason to get out of the house. #igers_seattle at Bellevue Downtown
